Q. I can't use my soapstone!
A. If the soapstone is grayed out in every area, that means you're offline and need to connect to a private server. If it is only usable in select areas (as in you can't summon in Firelink Shrine but you can in High Wall of Lothric) that means the mod is not installed properly.

Q. I can't connect to a self hosted server.
A. Check if you can connect to ?ServerName? if you can then shard that one. Self hosted servers aren't needed anymore.

Q. How do I shard a server?
A. Click the bottom left corner on the loader window that says "Create new server" and follow the instructions. If you don't see the sharded instance set minimum players to 0 which can be found under the box where your game directory is.

Q. I get "import server" instead of "create new server".
A. Your loader is outdated, get a new one either from the files tab of this mod page or from their github, Link can be found here:

Q. Works for pirated copies?
A. No, there's too many unknown factors that come with pirated copies. Both painted worlds and dsos are actively against pirated copies which forces you to resort to workarounds and hacked methods, as such we can't guarantee that your given copy will work. There's plenty of guides that you can try but this mod will not support them.

Q. DSOS isn't working for me
A. Go onto the discord server and go into the tech support channel, then look in pins and there's a painted worlds repack you can download. Use that instead.

Q. If DSOS doesn't work then why bother with this mod?!
A. QoL reasons. Auto ember, being able to drop more items for your friend, all but two multiplayer fog gates removed.

Q. Is this seamless?
A. No, Seamless co-op is out of the scope of this mod. It's merely an improvement to how summoning works

Q. I don't have a "white chalk", or a "white stone" or a "soapstone" upon character creation.
A. Reread the mod installation guide very thoroughly and follow all instructions to the letter.

Q. Will the mod ban me?
A. Yes, use a private server or painted worlds to avoid a ban. Do NOT use both!!!!!

Q. I lay my soapstone down but nothing appears.
A. You're using painted worlds. Soapstones change what you join as and are not used for summoning.

Q. Do I have to re-summon after my friend dies?
A. Yes

Q. Can my friend pick up key items in my world?
A. No

Q. Do I have to re-summon after a boss is defeated?
A. Yes.

Q. Save file is gone.
A. Press windows key and R on your keyboard, then type %appdata%, then go into the DarkSoulsIII folder and go into the folder that has a long string of characters. This is your save directory. Change the file extension of the .sl2 file to .sl3 and relaunch the game

Q. I can't start a "server"
A. Self hosted servers are not needed! Use the loader found in the files tab and follow the installation article!
