oh god... I know what you mean now. there's something wrong in my .dds converter, which adds an extra alpha tunnel in the pic, where I didn't want it there... D:
fixed. will re-upload all files soon, please wait.
I just hope it didn't mess up other files I uploaded lately... since I had re-work on most of them earlier... D:
Today i downloaded your mod as you make some of the best looking retextures ive seen. However after unpacking the desired dds files into override folder only my inventory icon changed. I tried black and red versions both with the same effect. Have u or anyone else experienced that issue before? If yes what are your advices?
There should be 4 textures of each folder, base texture, UV map, specular map, and the icon. please make sure they are all correctly put into the "override" folder.
Also, gedosato seems always reads .png files before .dds files. if you have .png files in that folder, with the same file name(s), please delete the .png file(s) first, so that the .dds file(s) can be readed by gedosato. thanks :3
Oh yes, also please make sure you set your character into a high-texture model. It probably didn't replace the textures in low-model, that's the probelm, I guess >.>
Setting texture quality to high indeed fixed my problem. Thats a shame though because my PC is quite old and i want only some textures to look fine not all of them so that my game can run smoothly. Anyway thank you for a quick reply and once again great job with your retextures
EDIT: I wonder however is it possible to change those retextures to work with medium texture quality by simply changing their name?
Totally agree with @skateseatle This is a damn fine looking weapon " unique and noticeable" couldn't have said it better. You are very talented. Thanks brother, Strong work
Your diffuse textures for this and your Red Iron Twinblade mod all look quite good - unique and noticeable, yet subtle enough to fit into the context of the game world more than most mods I see. But (and this is just my opinion of course) the specular maps could maybe use some tweaking since you end up with white highlights on bright, colored metal. Also, the speculars on the halberd are named wrong; they all end with +||+.
If you care, and want a really interesting read on how different specular materials work, check out this dude's blog post: http://www.manufato.com/?p=902 . Kinda long, but relatively easy reading and lots of pictures to illustrate.
yes that's exactly what I was unsure with >.< in DS1, they have a very "direct" specular maps, where you put red and it'll output red in the final results but in DS2, they have a different rule, which I tested millions of times but still fail to find out how it works...
I found some rules and it works fine on the black dragon armor/weapons, but the same rule never apply on other weapons, which is dissapointing... D:
and thanks for the link, let me check and see if there's any hint to help with that specular map thingy. :3
By the way, did any modder actually success on making a "colorful" specular map (Except the Black dragon set) ? Maybe it's easier for me to go asking for their help.... >w<

*sigh* dumping and trying to find textures inside thousands of pics is always a pain......
