Removes the subtitle background, ideal for ultrawide or anyone who is more minimalist.

This mod supports the Vortex mod manager but you need to extract the game with the "UXM Selective Unpacker" program. If you want to install with Vortex download the file "Vortex - No caption background" and Skip step 4.
To install the mod, we first need to download the "UXM Selective Unpacker", extract, and open the "UXM Selective Unpack" program (It's found on the Nexus Mods website.).
1- With the "UXM Selective Unpack" program open, click on "Browse" and locate the Dark Souls 2 SotFS executable, which is usually found at: Steam\steamapps\common\Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin\Game, and click "Open".
2- The next step is to click on the "Unpack" button; this will extract all the game's content so that we can install the mod (if using an HDD, it may take a while...)
3 - Once the extraction is complete, press the "Patch" button, and when finished, you can close the program.
4 - (READ THE WARNING BELOW)
Now, we just need to download the "No caption background" mod, extract it, and place the "99.febnd.dcx" file into the "menu" folder, which is located at: Steam\steamapps\common\Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin\Game\menu, replacing the existing file.
5 - Finished!
Attention: Rename the original "99.febnd.dcx" file from your game before replacing it to create a backup.If you want to undo all the changes made, simply open the "UXM Selective Unpack" program and click the "Restore" button (Ensure the executable path is selecting the game's executable), this will revert the game back to its original state, with no modifications.
I cannot guarantee that it is safe to play online with this mod, but I have been playing online with it and have not been banned so far. However, if any banning occurs, I will notify immediately. I do not assume responsibility if anyone gets banned.
The only modification I made to the game was in the "message-sign.tpf" file, which is compressed within the "99-febnd-dcx" file; I only changed the image.

Esse mod suporta o gerenciador de mods Vortex porem precisa extrair o jogo com o programa "UXM Selective Unpacker".
Caso queira instalar com o Vortex baixe o arquivo "Vortex - No caption background" e pule o passo 4.
Para instalar o mod precisamos primeiramente baixar o "UXM Selective Unpacker", extraia e abra o programa "UXM Selective Unpack".
1- Com o "UXM Selective Unpack" programa aberto clique em "Browse" e encontre o executável do Dark Souls 2 sotfs que geralmente irá estar no caminho: Steam\steamapps\common\Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin\Game e clique em abrir.
2- A segunda etapa agora é clicar no botão "Unpack", isso irá extrair todo o conteúdo do jogo para podemos instalar o mod (se estiver usando HD irá demorar um pouco...)
3 - Terminando de extrair iremos apertar o botão "Patch" e quando terminar podemos fechar o programa.
4 - (LEIA O AVISO ABAIXO)
Agora só precisamos baixar o mod "No caption background", extrair e colocar o arquivo "99.febnd.dcx" na pasta "menu" que está no caminho: Steam\steamapps\common\Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin\Game\menu e substitua o arquivo.
5 - Pronto!
Atenção: Renome o arquivo "99.febnd.dcx" original do seu jogo antes de substituir para fazer backup.
