About this mod

Suit up for the holidays in a cozy Santa costume while you enjoy some PvP in a snow-covered Oolacile Township

This is a pretty expansive retexture of the Township area, as well as a few armor texture mods. Far too many to list, but essentially every rooftop and exposed upward surface has been snowed over (without going overboard). The Santa costume is self-explanatory.

I did a great deal of research and trial-and-error in creating this texture mod, but unfortunately Dark Souls has a number of technical limitations that prevent me from adding finer details, such as the snow from Painted World, or snowing over some of the small pieces of geometry that share textures with walls or ceilings.

However, with that said, I'm extremely pleased with how it ended up. Definitely gives a completely different vibe than default Township, and hopefully this opens the door for others who are interested in environment texture mods but don't know if it's possible or viable.

The Santa costume consists of:

Mask of the Sealer
Leather Armor
Leather Gauntlets (from the Leather Armor set)
Holy Trousers

If you want your Santa to be correctly proportioned (read: fat and jolly), you can mess with his dimensions in Cheat Engine to achieve that.

There are two files available: One is the Township retexture, and the other is the Santa Claus textures (which includes both the Santa and Grinch faces, individually .zipped so you can choose).

To install:

1. Make sure you have DSfix installed. If you don't, you can get it from here:
http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?tag=dsfix

2. In your DSfix settings, go to the "enable texture override" setting and change it from 0 to 1. If it's already at 1, you're fine. Don't change the "texture dump" setting since that's something totally different.

3. Unzip the textures, and put the ones you want into the texture override directory (should be DATAdsfixtex_override).

4. Enjoy a relaxing snow day

Feel free to hit me up on Steam if you're having any problems getting the textures to work.

Have fun, and Merry Christmas!
