The problem is that the crosshair shares a single texture file with HP bars and such, no way authors can provide it without those.
You can cut the crosshair yourself though and paste it into your favorite UI texture. Any free image editing software allows you to do that and it's not too hard.
Yes, shame the game includes all those UI elements in the one texture. Worth the effort to merge into your UI of choice though.
I used GIMP, which lets you load the two conflicting PNG textures as "layers". That guarantees that they're perfectly aligned, and it's just a matter of clearing the sight from your custom UI layer and clearing everything else from the Better Aim Sight layer - then exporting the PNG.
At close range shots hit in the centre, at longer range shots drop off towards the bottom right. So no need for the top left. I'm only a new DS player, and my only experience is the shortbow. May be that where the shots fall in the lower right depends on the weapon being used (and range, of course).
I downloaded the mod, it indeed comes with HUD alterations: http://i.imgur.com/gp1COV2.png I have to modify the .png file and remove everything except the crosshair.
This mod makes it easy to line up headshots. I feel it takes the soul out of archery and reduces the joy of getting a headshot by learning the curve of the arrows. Great work though.
I'm not sure if I'm the only one getting this issue, but there's quite a glaring one when fighting a boss. Their health bar is partially red, partially yellow, with nothing showing how much damage you had done. Aside from that, the aiming reticule works like a charm.
I really like the aiming reticle, and I don't have anything to complain about the Better Health Bars mod. However, I would really like to get a player health/stamina bar mod and a target icon mod. When i looked at your mod file i saw that all of the Player HUD is basically all in the same file, so if i were to get myself a HP/STAM mod, would they overlap? Other than having to make my own file and change the bars on my own (which i only have about a vague idea in, so i wouldnt dare dabble in it) is there a way to make sure they don't if the case is that they collide?

This is a drastic improvement.
