I really hope you add a comprehensive changelog someday, it's extremely difficult to gauge some of the subtler changes such as weapon, status effects and enemy balance.
One would have to compare in-game side to side to even catch some of the changes otherwise, both with modified saves that have all weapons at max level (To better catch scaling differences) which is made more difficult since upgrades only go to +10 with this mod. Even then, things like small changes in frame data would be hard to notice.
Simply being able to see changes to a weapon before committing to it will make a lot of people try it out in the mod. For example the base game's Scimitar is a mediocre weapon and with this mod I can see that it has even less base damage, possibly because of compressing 15 upgrade levels into 10. Since the description mentions that every weapon has been rebalanced I'm left in the dark with how meaningful said changes are. Maybe you shaved off some start up and recovery, or made it scale even better at higher upgrade levels, but I would have no clue.
Similarly, there's no place outside this comment section and the barren wiki to discuss the mod. Even modded Dark Souls Discords don't really bring up the mod at all and that is a shame. Makes it hard for people to collaboratively piece the changes together in case of never getting said changelog.
Why did you remove the bonfire on top of Sen's Fortress? It wouldn't be so bad if you didn't move it to the part of the fortress that's piss easy to get to. I appreciate not having to run back from the parish bonfire every time which I'm sure was your intent but that bonfire was up there for a reason. Really just throw the players who hate platforming puzzles their bone back please?
Edit: I should also add that I'm loving the mod. The changes are mostly subtle. The bigger changes are spicy. Pinwheel kicked my ass. I'd like to echo the post under me about getting some more documentation for the mod because I'd like to appreciate all the changes. Hope Age of Sunlight gets more attention. Gimme back my bonfire on top o sens pls tho
Double Edit: I found it. You moved it. The one in the middle of the fortress is new. You're sneaky. 5/5 mod would happily go through the frustration of derping over that bonfire again
I accidentaly lost Wakizashi. Is there a way to bring it back with cheat engine? Edit: Found an ID for Wakizashi! It's: "008B2130". Used swapping method with CE and replaced longsword with it.
Hey I was having a great time with this, up until I tried to access the DLC area with the broken pendant. The game has repeatedly crashed anytime I try to approach the entrance point in Darkroot Basin. The error message is this:
Just finished the mod beating every boss. This is Dark Souls but better, and that's it. I think Gwyn has a bit too much health tho xD aside from that, this should be the standard for DS mods, truly amazing.
This mod basically makes Dark Souls a much better game. I can't point out a single change as a failure. I just want o say a BIG thank you for the new bonfires. They make me want to hug JudgeImpact for developing this mod.
