So can you not backstab/riposte the asylum black knight? I'm so confused I've been parrying his ass and just can't riposte to save my life? Like git gud or whats going on, same with backstab.
Yeah, I suppose you are referring to the BK added to Asylum. Yeah, for some reason currently it can't be parried (or back-stabbed, which I hadn't tested, so thank you). I don't know if the other BKs added so far have the same problem. Anyway, as of now, I don't know how to fix this.
Been playing and streaming this combined with aggression black phantoms and random items and boy howdy am I having a time. I got up to the parish and was pleasantly surprised by a black knight. o boy! Then I found out gargoyles has friends. I've never laugh-cry-raged like that in a while. It totally adds more life into the game with what you added!

Your mod is really great. But I do have some questions: _Will you add more black knights/silver knights? They are awesome. _You actually add new enemies in or you just move them from map to map? Since I only see four hollows at the hellkite bridge. _Do you plan to add some more silver knight archers or silver knights in Ornstein and Smough boss fight? _The blue drake in Undead Parish is goddamn laggy. Can you do anything to fix it? _Do you plan to put Darkwraiths on some areas of the game, beside New Londo Ruins? _Add Asylum Demon or Stray Demon into Demon Ruins? _I think the Bounding Demon in Lost Izalith (the dragon butts) are cool enemies, will you move them to other areas?

-I will add more BKs and SKs to other maps, but that is probably all I'm adding to the maps I've uploaded so far (Asy, Firelink, Burg/Parish). The reasons: I don't want them to be in the way to make process, too much (putting them right in the way, like a regular enemy); I don't want it to be just too easy to farm BK and SK weapons (currently, the ones I've added will respawn if you die or leave the map, and I will make them not respawn once I figure out how).
If you are really wanting more BKs in your way, there is another mod like this that does it, though in my opinion, it doesn't have enough variety and is too hard, again, just to my liking. His video, with download, is on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyWm8pez9ck Just to warn you, I think his mod kills most friendly NPCs that return to Firelink.
Again, I have nothing against the mod I just mentioned, I just like mine better, lol. The is also a play-thru on YT of an enemy mod that added many many BKs, and was really hard, but, there is no download for the mod (WTF, right?).
-I sometimes move enemies around in a map (such as the torch hollows in Lower Burg being spread throughout the area). However, mostly I add new enemies to the maps (using the model and NPCparams of the new enemy, but have to use AI of an enemy from the current map). There are approximately twice as many enemies in my maps that are finished.
-I don't know exactly what I'm going to add to O-S fight, as of yet. I won't be adding very many enemies, though.
-Yes, that blue drake (wyvern) in Parish does act weird. I just really wanted a dragon there (castle, you know). The red drake (dragon) doesn't work right at all to copy there. I may just remove that blue drake when I update.
-On my PC I have added a few Darkwraiths to the front part of NLR, and one in VoD (this is all one map). Since they are hard enemies, and can be farmed for Chunks and 1200 souls each, I probably won't add very many, or any, anywhere else.
Actually, I may add them, and other rare enemies, to Painted World, so there is more reason to go there. IDK yet, though.
-I don't know if I want to, or if I can, add Asylum Demon as an enemy like that. I haven't worked on the DemonR and LostIz maps, yet.
-Most players don't like the dragon butts. If anything, I'll just leave them where they are, and not add them anywhere else (they are really big, for one thing, and need space).
Thanks for the answers. I think the Black Knight is right. Well, I am only at Lower Undead Burg (waiting for new maps) and I already have a +4 lightning spear thanks to Mr.Black Knight at the Hellkite Dragon bridge. It's too OP in my opinion. Also, I actually like your mod than others, since it creates a fair challenge, not an unbeatable challenge.
Side note: I have tested this mod with one of my pals. And I discovered that the phantom cannot see the added/moved enemies, even though they can still see me take damage and slicing invincible enemies. And the new enemies also attack the phantom, but they don't hurt the phantom. Also, the phantom can hit the added enemies, but he can't cause damage to them, though. I haven't tested if the cooper also have this mod installed.

Thank you. I guess you mean you got the Lightning Spear from my Mimic, then farmed Chunks from BKs to make it +4? Yeah, nature of the mod to allow such rewards. Since I'm altering the enemy structure, as it were, you're able to get more souls and more good loot early. Basically, this mod would be boring if I just made there be an exact copy of every enemy (placing the twins next to each other). Variety makes it good, I think.
Right, PVP and co-op will be weird if only one of you has this mod installed.

The mod is really great, expecially used with the Randomizer, and i have a few suggestions:
-First of all, i think that it would be way better to focus more on "diversity" than "quantity". For Example, i love how you added skeletons in the Parish, but i think that they should replace some existing enemies, not be just added. Do not misundestand, it's fine to add some enemies here and there, but i think that you went a bit overkill in some areas, making them less fun and more frustrating to play.
-I've read that is not possibile to fix the problem with the gargoyle spraying you with fire way before the bossfight in the Parish. I will then suggest to remove him entirely and to add some other enemy.
-Some bossfights are interesting (The Asylum Demon) and some are just gankier (Gargoyles). If a boss can not be improved adding more enemies, i suggest to just buff his HP pool to make it harder, or to transform it in his Gravelord version, if possible.
I'll wait the next version to play some more! Keep up the good work.

I'd say, besides the fact that I'm adding enemies that I WANT to see (since it is my mod), I'm also gauging the difficulty, and fun (to me) based on my own play-thru of the modded maps. As reference, I'll say that I've played DS1 for several years, but I don't speed-run, I don't do many challenge runs, and I like to take it slow and kill all the enemies. So, if I can handle the maps, then that is what I'm going to upload. Players can add even more challenge by playing EPiC along with other hard mods at their own, lol, discretion!
Also, I'm probably not going to add any gravelord versions of enemies or bosses.
Last question, is it hard to make a mod like this? I mean, if i want to make a similar mod, would it be hard? I'm a modder myself, but i've never modded DS before, so i don't know how hard it is or what program i should use. It would be great if you can provide me even a little "Imput" to point me into the right direction.
U R welcome. Well, it's really not all that hard, just sorta time consuming. First I'll say, I haven't learned very much about programming in Cheat Engine, which is fine, because I don't have to use CE for this, lol.
As I state in the description, I used Wulf2k9's MSB Editor to make the changes, and used the modded Debug DarkSouls.exe to find the coordinates I need, and keep enemies from chasing me, and testing, etc.
Tell you what, I may make a tutorial video (with voice commentary) about how to do this (I may ask Wulf2k9 for his permission, first). Right now, I'm making a YT DS1 walk-thru and doing DS1 YT livestreams, so I haven't made edits in MSB in at least a month. Also, I'm having some drama in my personal life, :-(
So, pretty soon I'll relearn, lol, how I was making this, and start making edits again. Then, I may make a YT tutorial.
Of course, I want people to download MY mod of added enemies, lol, but competition is fine, I guess, lol.

Anyway, i've given the editor a shot and i was ablo to spawn new enemies of the same level without any problem The first problem arose when i tried to replace all hollow soldiers with Graveyard's Skeletons: They spawn ONLY when i exit the first bonfire of the undead burg. Even the skeletons at the parish seem to not spawn otherwise.
Do you know what i might be doing wrong? There is a fix to this?
LOL, my mod is aimed more at variety than at difficulty, lol, also! I've seen two other versions of people making this type of mod, and those were even more ganky than mine, and had even more hard enemies (esp. BKs, right in the way). Those mods are fine, but too hard for my preference, and didn't have enough enemy variety (again, for my preference). However, I've never seen a mod like this that added enemies to boss fights, lol...but, ya know, "git gud"!
I never ment to say that you mod doesn't also improve variety xD Anyway, i'm still stuck for that "skeleton problem" that i wrote before. Do you know what might be causing it?

My mod will go in maps/mapstudio within those data files. BACKUP the original maps first!!!
The changes due to my EPiCmod will show up on any character you have (old, or new, or current). However, I suggest you just do a new character to try out EPiC mod, especially since the changes are the first areas (maps) of the game.
so i played the mod and i actually had fun playing it on a new save but there are some pros and cons (IMO) about this mod so... here are my thoughts about it. Pros : 1) Area's will be more fresh and new because of new enemy's much like in ds2 2) Requires further planning before proceeding otherwise you be de_stroyed 3) chanllenges you to be mindful of your surroundings 4) boss fights are extremely engaging to the player Cons : 1) loot is common (wtf is this, diablo?) 2) players will be leveling up more than they should be causing less hardships on gameplay and more on ganking
But overall i really like this mod and it makes the game so much better. I also agree on McJ0hns0n's post about this.but again this mod is the best one iv 'e seen so far on fair gameplay wise, Keep up the good work! .

Yes, as I say in the mod's description, you can get more loot more easily and get more souls early, with this mod. That is part of the balancing act I'm doing to add harder enemies. As I say, I'm a fairly good player, and I can survive, and I have fun with EPiC. Of course, though, it is my choices.
Thank you that you consider (as you say) this being the best version so far of someone adding enemies. Yeah, see, it doesn't have ten or twenty additional Black Knights in each map, lol! And thus, I don't give many more farms for BK weapons, either!
