Ever had those moments where those darn skeletons just won’t stop wailing on your poor Vestal? Or how about those times the Hag kept grabbing the Leper over and over? Or… Maybe you just want more control over the luck in Darkest Dungeon? If your answer to any of these questions is remotely close to being “yes” then this mod is just for you!
What is “Control the Enemy Target”?
Control the Enemy Target or CET for short, allows you to, well, Control the Enemy Target! To be more specific, it allows you to select who will be the target of an enemy's merciless attack. Do you want the Skeleton Arbalist to shoot your Houndmaster instead of your Occultist? Then you can do just that!
What doesn't it do?
For starters, you can't select the attack to be used; the enemy will decide that. Oh, you also can't make the bad guy hurt one of their friends. You can't make your hero attack another hero, so why should the enemy? Also, you have no control over enemy heals and enemy summons. I tried to make them targetable, but it just froze the game (Mind you, you can control the attacks of the summons, I’m just saying that you can’t control who goes where and such). Keep in mind, enemy attacks that target your entire team will still target your entire team.
Why should I get this mod?
You get more control over who gets hurt! You can use this mod to stop your death’s door-ed Crusader from being murdered, for example. Uhh, you can this mod to spice up the game a bit? C’mon, give it a try!
Anything else I should know?
Because of coding, a somewhat distracting bark appears whenever you mouse over a target for your bad guys. Besides that, there isn’t much more to say about CET.
It is compatible with Darkest Dungeon build 21101, and should work with any mod that does not modify the info files of enemies.
How do I install this mod?
1. Download the mod and extract "monsters" into your Darkest Dungeon installation folder. Don't put it into your mod folder, put it into your game files. You know you placed it in the right place if the "Override Files" prompt appears on the screen.
2. Override all files.
3. And you're done! If you want to test it out, start a new game and allow the tutorial enemies to attack you.
Note: The "dlc" file is for Crimson Court and Shieldbreaker. Install them only if you have the downloadable content.
How do I uninstall this mod?
Simply do what you did to install the mod, but for the file(s) inside the "Backup" folder. It will revert the game back to normal.
