this mod crashes my game every time i click provision in the mission select screen. Ive removed the mod and the issue doesnt persist, ive installed it correctly and everything...
Just manually drop the files from the zip files into the corresponding folder in the main game folder. Given the structure of the provided files, just extract the archives and move the files into the game folder. The author has already placed everything into the correct folders.
Unlike the Steam version, there is no in-game activation. Just install it and play.
This is perhaps not the best advice. Since MarvinSeo includes a project.xml file with the mod, it works just fine when placed in the "Darkest Dungeon/mods" folder, without having to overwrite the game files. Just move the "Lamia Mod Base" folder from the zip file into the /mods folder, and you can enable/disable it per save just like you would with the Steam version of the game.
+1 to LittleWolfie. I'm playing on Epic Games and just got this to work. -----------------------------------
**NOTE**
Go into "shared" and "trait" and rename the "trait_library.json" file for the corresponding hero. Example: thrall.trait_library.json
The trait files are not named for several of the heroes. Make sure you type "seraph" or "lamia" etc. into the file and have those four trait files copied into the folder. I was getting an error and the game crashed repeatedly until I did this and rebooted and then it worked fine.
-----------------------------------
To clarify: I first downloaded all 4 character packs (Lamia, Falconer, Thrall, Seraph). I consolidated them into a single folder I titled "Marvin Seo Characters." Doesn't matter what you name it, obviously. It's simply for consolidation, to put all 4 heroes into the same folder. The individual folders for each character are:
Consolidating them just streamlines the copy/paste process. Take the contents of each folder for each hero and carefully copy and paste them into the consolidated folder, one by one. The end result is that the aforementioned folders will contain the information for all 4 characters.
Once you go through the tedious process of consolidating all heroes into this folder, you simply open up a second instance of file explorer with the path to the actual game files. For me it was program files/epic games/darkest dungeon.
Now you just go one by one, copying and pasting the consolidated files into the corresponding folders of the actual game path. Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C are your best friend here. Remember not to copy the actual folders, but only the files within the folders. Tedious, but it's what you gotta do.
I think only one instance had an actual overwrite of a file. All others were simply copy and pasting, adding new files to pre-existing folders. Will update if I run into any issues, but it seems to be working great for now. I didn't know until a Lamia randomly showed up in the stagecoach.
There is no button to press to enable mods, and copying/pasting the character files into the mods folder does absolutely nothing. You can put the consolidated folder into the mods folder for safekeeping and workflow, but to get the actual mod to work, you need to individually copy and paste the actual contents of the mods into the game folders. Individually.
Make sure you change the modfiles.txt file to reflect any changes to filenames. So if you rename trait_library.json to falconer.trait_library.json then you'll need to open up and edit modfiles.txt to reflect that.
Great mod, I enjoy having interesting new classes to use in game! I have come across a glitch however, the stage coach will only spawn lamia's now. 20 weeks have passed and nothing but lamia's. Verified game integrity and set everything back to 'normal' but still the same problem. Any ideas?

Consolidating them just streamlines the copy/paste process. Take the contents of each folder for each hero and carefully copy and paste them into the consolidated folder, one by one. The end result is that the aforementioned folders will contain the information for all 4 characters.

Hope that helps!
Didnt even notice it was a abomination type char
however, this is a transform type character. you MUST have access to all skills in order for it to play correctly.
