This mod will not be compatible with any mod that alters the following files:
- base.effects
- brigand_cannon_[A-C].info
- base.monster_brains.json
If anyone knows a way to alter these files modually, such as through .override files, this would be appreciated as it would improve the compatibility of this mod.
Description
While a cute gimmick, a boss that can either wipe the entire party or do nothing based purely on random chance is terrible gameplay design. This mod provides a more consistent experience by altering the behavior of the Brigand Pounder so that it will never misfire. If lit by the Brigand Matchman, it will always perform the "BOOOOOOOM!" ability. The damage and stress inflicted by this attack has been reduced to a weighted average of the "BOOOOOOOM!" and "MISFIRE!" values:
- 8 Pounder: Damage 6-18, stress 6
- 12 Pounder: Damage 8-26, stress 8
- 16 Pounder: Damage 13-38, stress 8
Additionally, there is a version that fixes the damage range to a constant value (still adjusted for the increased probability). This version is compatible with the Deterministic Damage and Heal Values mod, but this mod must be given precedence.
