About this mod
Replaces the default spell icons and reassigns the spells that use them. Also adds an expanded spell icon sheet for all your spell making needs and unique icons for spells added by mods. 148 new icons included. Pick from 3 different resolutions: 128x128, 64x64 or 32x32.

Please read the instal instructions at the bottom of this page very carefully!
Some of these icons are purely designed by me, but many of them are inspired by elements of numerous icons previously made available within the Daggerfall Community (principally, though by no means exclusively, by KoWs in his DREAM mods) that have been variously edited, cropped, remixed, redrawn, resampled and/or recoloured by me so that they all form a cogent, coherent and similarly designed set. The icons are mostly designed to reflect the spell effect, rather than the spell name (so some differently named spells may have the same icon), but this should make it easier to see what effects are at work in you buffs/debuffs. Below you will find the broad colour codes used by a lot of the spells, followed by a comprehensive breakdown of the spells that each icon represents, whether they be defaults, custom spells that can be made in the spell maker, or are spells added by mods.

Replacing all those meaningless splodges representing the default spells that enemies use and the player can buy in the game from a spell seller. Gives the icon index number for all spells automatically reassigned by this mod.

Expanded Spell Icon Set:
Selectable via your Spell Book or in the Spell Maker. Provides a large icon selection with added icons for potential custom spells made with the spell maker, including some alternatives for the default spell icons and some unique icons for spells added by mods. Of course, this is merely a suggested use of the icons, you are free to use them as you wish. Icon index numbers are given for anyone who may want to use these icons in their mods.

INSTAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Download either the HiRes version for 128x128 icons (more suitable for use with DREAM), the LoRes version for 64x64 icons (more suitable for Vanilla Enhanced or Dream 90s), or the VeryLoRes version for 32x32 icons (more suitable for a vanilla style graphics game).
Each download contains everything you need for the mod to work.
Simply unzip the chosen download to a location of your choice, then paste the required contents as detailed below into your "StreamingAssets" folder. I have disabled VORTEX for this mod because it needs a manual install so you can decide which elements you want to use. Here is a more detailed description of what you will find in each zip file and what to do with them ...
1. A "Textures" folder that contains an "Img" folder with the file "ICON00I0.IMG.png" in it. Place the "Img" folder with it's contents into your DFU "StreamingAssets/Textures" folder. Overwrite if prompted. This replaces the graphics for the original default spell icons.
2a. A "SpellIcons" folder which contains the "SpellIconOverhaul.png" spell sheet and "SpellIconOverhaul.txt" files. These files must go into your DFU "StreamingAssets/SpellIcons" folder. This adds the Expanded Spell Icon Set into your game.
2b. In addition, the "SpellIcons" folder contains an optional "DrugSpellIcons.png" spell sheet and DrugSpellIcons.txt files for the drug spells in the "Thieves Guild: Pimps And Pushers" mod if you use it - these must also go in your "StreamingAssets/SpellIcons" folder if you want the Drug spell effects from that mod to match the style of the spells from this one.
3. A "Mods - Default" folder that contains the "Spell Icon Overhaul.dfmod" file that reassigns the default spells with the new icons. This file must go in your DFU "StreamingAssets/Mods" folder. This mod MUST go after (below) any other mod that changes the default spells (in any way) in your load order. If you are using the "Kab's Unleveled Spells" mod, do not use this one, use the one below.
4. A "Mods - Kabs Unleveled Spells" folder that contains a different "Spell Icon Overhaul.dfmod" file to the one above, this one reassigns both the default spells AND those added/changed by "Kab's Unleveled Spells" with the new icons. This "Spell Icon Overhaul" mod MUST go after (below) "Kab's Unleveled Spells" in your load order (and MUST go below any other mod that changes the default spells in any way). If you are not using the "Kab's Unleveled Spells" mod, do not use this dfmod, use the one mentioned above.
I've kept the icon sheets as loose files so that they can be easily replaced if anyone wishes to make there own version of the icons while still following my new schema of spell assignments.
UNINSTALLATION:
Simply remove the files mentioned above.
COMPATIBILITY:
This mod (if you follow the instal instructions carefully) has built in compatibility with "Kab's Unleveled Spells", and "Thieves Guild: Pimps And Pushers".
"Roleplay & Realism: Items", "The Penwick Papers", "Cheb's Necromancy" and "Clairvoyance - Detect Quest Target spell" are compatible in that this mod provides icons for the spells added by those mods that are accessible for assignment in your Spell Book or through the Spell Maker in game.
NB: "Roleplay & Realism: Items" and "Cheb's Necromancy" both add new spells to your spell book at character creation (if you have that option enabled in their mod settings) ... they will have the wrong icons assigned from the start, so (unless/until I can figure out how to change them) you must change them manually in your spell book after start-up.
It is also compatible with any mod that simply adds alternative spell icons into your "StreamingAssets/SpellIcons" folder.
However, this mod is incompatible with any mod that directly replaces the same "ICON00I0.IMG.png" file in your "StreamingAssets/Textures/Img" folder that this mod does. Whichever you instal last will overwrite the changes made by the previous one.
