USAGE:
-----------
Install the mod. Android users can copy-paste the QuestPacks folder in the mirror so it merges with their QuestPacks folder (I cannot help with this, please find guidance if you need it).
This will execute when a new character is created. It can be executed on an existing character with the console command "startquest cheatarmory".
Q: Why does this mod exist?
A: Many people try Daggerfall and find that the introduction is far too difficult, being unable to hit a rat or an imp after a hundred swings. This is usually due to having bad character skills and bad equipment. I can't fix their character skills, but having a Daedric weapon will add 60 points out of 100 to their accuracy, so most things will die.
Q: This feels like a cheat.
A: It is a cheat. This is not how people should play Daggerfall. It is meant for new players, only so they can learn to play the game without the pressures of using a weak character and obscure combat formulas for the first time.
Q: I accidentally left this mod on when I made a new character, and now I have Daedric equipment I don't want.
A: Drop it on the ground and leave it behind.
Q: Why does it have an Orcish warhammer too?
A: Some people will forbid either Daedric equipment or Long Blades (or choose a class that does these). Adding the Orcish warhammer allows these people to have a proper weapon, even if they can't use the armor.
Q: Can I use this on an existing character?
A: It can be executed on an existing character with the console command "startquest cheatarmory".
Q: I got a bunch of equipment but it's all iron.
A: Quest Actions Extension is an absolute requirement for this mod, and it sets the material for the weapons and the armor. Please install it first, and put it higher than this mod in your load order.
Q: I'm still dying. What more can I do?
A: Use console command "tgm".
Q: I'm an Android user and I can't figure out the whole QuestPacks folder thing.
A: You can ignore that if you're willing to start this event yourself with the console, instead of automatically at character start. Just put the file "cheatarmory.txt" in your Quests folder of DFU, and run "startquest cheatarmory" in the console with your character.
Unintentional Christmas gift 2024?
This event is extremely simple and deletes itself once you run it. It cannot be responsible for slowdown or bad PC performance. It is incapable of doing so.
