I'm using Cheb's Necromancy and I'm leaving the starting dungeon with about 7 skeletons, and I'm also wearing a hood. However, when I got to Daggerfall, the guards not only went after my skeletons (which I expected, hence the hood), but they also went after me, and I can't say for sure if this is a bug in the mod, caused by my mods order, or if it's due to some other specific mod (Language Skills Overhaul for example)
I robbed a small weaponsmith at night, went back to my inn, and in the morning I stepped outside and somehow a villager snitched on me for breaking and entering...??? I hope in the future we will get an option to turn snitches off, I only want this mod for the sake of making guards actually fight enemies I'll be uninstalling this mod for now cuz that is a big fat deal breaker right there
Hi, @squidkamer I wanted to pitch you a little idea for the future.
It would be interesting if there was some kind of a value check for 'social stealth' / 'conspicuousness' when in towns and regions where you're considered a scoundrel and guards will attack on sight, similarly to Kingdom Come Deliverance.
It's immersive and great fun to see villagers run from you and guards come attacking when you're spotted using 'villagers reactions' but as far as I know there's no way to actually counter the act of being spotted and it always happens automatically.
How about some rolls for things like stealth + personality, region appropriate outfit + time of day?
I love this mod, as seems to be the only one where the guards defend the player from monsters (if there's another one I'd like to know), but for such a small mod, once activated I suffer a noticeable hit to framerate when looking at certain directions inside a city.
I don't know if it's because it's calculating reactions in real time for all npcs, so the performance hit it's expected, but once I disable it, it's constant 60 no matter how many mods I have.
If nothing can be done about it, I'd love an optional download only for the "guards attack monsters" bit. Cannot play without it after having it.
EDIT: Using DFU 1.1 and the Lagless mod at the end of my modlist the game is now super smooth, with this mod and lots more. Couldn't be happier.
I keep getting a false murder charge in Gothway Gardens, "a villager has reported your crimes". I have loads of mods so probably a conflict, but this mod is causing it for me.
I'll see about adding a feature to disable this. This mod doesnt set crimes for the players, villagers only detect if you well known criminal. I believe you need both a crime, and -20 in legal rep for them to start noticing you.
For reference until Kamer updates this mod, most cases of false crimes come from the either the mod "Deadly Dungeons" or one of imsobadatnicknames' several mods that add enemies/NPCs (Banditry and travelling merchants, travelling alchemists, iliac bay battlefields, etc.) - I strongly recommend disabling these mods as they're no longer maintained by their respective author.
If you have this issue, use console command "clear_crimecommitted" to get rid of all your current crimes.
Seems to have some unintended effects when combined with other mods. With Transparent Windows, if I take a quest to kill bats/rats, the villagers outside the house start panicking and call the guards. Might need the aggro radius reduced or a line-of-sight check implemented.
I think if that guy stopped letting the door open and let wild animals in, it would fix the issue. I dont need to check out. I'll just add an ingame check which is already available if the player is inside a home.
It may not be working with DFU 0.14.3 and perhaps later versions. The guards did not react at all when I was being chased by a monster through town. The player.log file showed an error message when loading this mod that said something like BloodyFall missing from namespace.
I did some more testing and discovered that this mod only works if the Bloodfall mod is also enabled. This requirement is not mentioned on the description page. You can turn off the Bloodfall features in mod settings if you don't like the gore.

Edit: I've opted to add alternatives instead of a toggle.
