About this mod

Implements a custom controller for camera bob, roll and recoil. Android version also available.

IMPORTANT! READ AND DO BEFORE USING!

Set Camera Recoil Strength to OFF in the DFU Advanced Settings and un-tick Head Bobbing in the in-game Pause Menu.

FEATURES

This mod implements the following effects:
  • View bob during movement, scaling with speed and movement type (riding, swimming, etc)
  • View roll when strafing or otherwise moving laterally relative to the view direction
  • Camera recoil when Hit by an Attack or when Failing a Saving Throw (Requires VCEH or a VCEH-compatible mod)
  • View sway when swimming in dungeons or in water tiles on the exterior
  • Global sway when on board the player ship that scales with the current weather
All effects can be configured to taste and even completely disabled in the mod settings.

MOD COMPATIBILITY

I recommend using either Skyboxer by JohnDoom and carademono or Dynamic Skies by carademono in order to have the sky roll along properly with the view. The vanilla skybox is unable to support this movement.

Otherwise, this should be compatible with most mods that do not directly affect the camera. Some examples of my own:
  • Eye of the Beholder - Make sure this mod is loaded BEFORE EOTB to be able to use Third-Person. Note that view bob currently does not work while in Third Person.
  • Auto-Sight - Seems to be compatible with most main features.
  • Free Rein - Fully compatible. Fixes the camera movement being disabled while riding a horse without holding down a movement key. This mod also includes the option to invert the view roll when riding, recommended if you use Mouse Steering
KNOWN ISSUES
  • ROLL, RECOIL and SWAY behave unexpectedly in Cursor Mode, probably due to the disabling of the PlayerMouseLook component. Currently investigating any possible workarounds.
