Matches Movement Speeds (7 new options)

This mod matches the various movement speeds to provide a smoother gameplay experience, particularly for controller users.

After extensive tweaking/testing I've found a few versions that I think work well, each in their own way.

There are 7 options:

  • FASTER AIM/CROUCH, DEFAULT SPRINT - Increases aim/walk/scan/zoom/crouch speeds to match default base speed. (V moves the same speed in all states besides sprinting. Significant combat advantage.)
  • FASTER AIM/CROUCH, SLOWER SPRINT - Same as Option #1 with slower sprint speed for balance. (Faster ADS/sneak so slower sprinting trade off.)
  • FASTER AIM/CROUCH, FASTER SPRINT - Same as Option #1 with faster sprint speed for fun. (Huge combat advantage.)
  • NO JOG, DEFAULT SPRINT - Decreases default base speed to match aim/walk/scan/zoom/crouch speed. (Walk or run. V no longer jogs. Significant combat disadvantage.)
  • NO JOG, SLOWER SPRINT - Same as Option #4 with slower sprint speed for challenge. (Huge combat disadvantage.)
  • NO JOG, FASTER SPRINT - Same as Option #4 with slower sprint speed for balance. (No more jogging so faster sprinting trade off.)
  • USAIN BORG - Cranks all speeds up to 11. (Literally 11.)

Each option offers different tradeoffs so you'll have to decide which one fits with your inputs and playstyle.

Personally I use Option #5 as it feels the most immersive and challenging. It forces you to move more naturally through Night City by removing the standard gaming trope of infinite jogging. It also slows down sprinting (which makes sense when carrying so much gear/loot) and makes specing into things that increase movement speed feel a lot more rewarding (Reflexes, Cold Blood, etc.), as well as stamina enhancing perks and cyberware.

If you want to customize your own speeds then just pick any version, download, install, then open the init.lua and edit the values to your liking.

This mod is incompatible with any mod that alters movement speed values.
