Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister was the face of Motörhead, and the godfather of heavy metal. Lemmy was on tour for 40 years, since 1975 to 2015, he was on tour every year. He passed away in 2015, and had his ashes put into bullets and sent off to his closest friends.
Dave Grohl was one of Lemmy's greatest friends, and even recalled a time when Lemmy offered him and a others backstage a drink, instead of giving them glasses he gave them each their own fresh bottles of Jack Daniels.
He lived a legend, and died a legend. Smoked two packs a day, was constantly on drugs, and even signed himself in as "Justin Case" when he was hospitalized. It was always safe to assume that whatever story you heard about Lemmy was watered down.
