As the mod author permission forbids direct modification of his mod; this fix is a simple "overriding" mod.
The Ultra Texture Remaster Repack mod has an issue with gui/interface item Icons since Phantom Liberty.
Phantom Liberty added new icons for new items.
The way the game works is that all of those icons are not single individual files but a big file, a single big picture in which all icons are spread out like a mosaic, and the game calls each icon by giving coordinates to the graphic within the big picture.
This means that when the mod was created, the author upscaled all the picture files, and these "mosaic" files aswell.
Phantom Liberty added new icons, thus they added updated "mosaic" files, and so this mods' files where no longer coherent.
Permissions forbid me from uploading a version of the mod expunged of those mosaic files.
So I created this mod fix which is basically the game base files for the following folders :
base\gameplay\gui\common\icons
base\gameplay\gui\common\icons\avatars
base\gameplay\gui\common\icons\codex
base\gameplay\gui\common\icons\items
ep1\gameplay\gui\common\icons\codex
This represents 217 .xbm files.
For a total of 570 Mb.
This mod is named to be loaded BEFORE the Ultra Texture Remaster Repack in order to override the mods' outdated files.
I know this seems rather bonkers as it means that you have :
1/ The base game files
2/ The base game files overridden by the Ultra Texture Remaster Repack files.
3/ The Ultra Texture Remaster Repack files overridden by my mod fix (which are the base game files).
BUT the current permissions of Ultra Texture Remaster Repack don't allow direct edit, so this is for the moment the "best" solution I could come up with to help out those using the mod.
And sadly it means also that Ultra Texture Remaster Repack remains a big 11Gb+ single download file, and that to use it in the current game, you need to download my mod which weights 500mb.
I could also remove the files in base\gameplay\gui\common\icons\codex (shaving off 200+mb).
But as PL added also new characters, chances are that this codex folder also needs to not be modified by Ultra Texture Remaster Repack)
So there, for the moment until I find a better way, I hope this mod will help.
