But that runs counter to the point of an SMG, doesn't it? Maybe the right fix is the extend the duration but decrease the size of the buff slightly for SMGs.
I'm pretty sure the short duration is just an oversight by the devs. They already have an effector implemented to remove the buff on any action other than continuously holding down the fire button.
Nowhere in the Bolt perk description does it say that it expires after a short while. In fact, it says the opposite: "To continue firing Bolts in full-auto, press and hold the trigger again after firing the initial burst."
And this also affects other weapons, such as the DR-12 Quasar which has a smaller, 16 shot magazine. Seems kinda awkward to expect players to charge an 11 shot burst followed by a new charge for only a 5 shot burst. If the buff lasting 2s was truly intentional, then full auto tech weapons should have had more fitting fire rates and magazine sizes to synergize with it.
I'm not so sure. "To continue firing Bolts in full-auto, press and hold the trigger again after firing the initial burst." to me reads, you get a few boltsd at the beginning, then release and repeat. Whats odd is the time it takes to start firing again. With full perks, the iconic or the iconic modded Senkoh are possibly the best weapon in the game, besides maybe order. But doing the trigger release thing on the non-iconic especially is almost impossible, as it just freezes up. Things have been switched up so much in the patches that its hard to keep up, but when I was testing them i think in the previous patch, i was recording then slowing down the shots, and it only seemed to give 3 aoe bolts but more non aoe. Maybe that was just the graphics though.
Given their track record of leaving perks completely broken for months, or the fact that they still havent fixed iconic system collapse, i'd be surprised if they actually counted the shot burts per mag for each gun. They seriously need to buff quasar as its dumpster atm, especially gris-gris, and that frickin gun you craft with the toy gun is on par with, or possibly better than the Senkoh.
I think atm the power differences are being rotated for game strategy purposes rather than balance so they can stretch the expansion out, but who knows. I've downloaded this and will give it a go next time i switch to tech weapons. Thanks
Just got the author's point: the full-auto tech mode cannot be cancelled, so you have to shoot twice or more with one single long LM click, yet the following fires will not be bolt due to the vanilla system.
