glen apartment building overhaul designed for my v, fit for a rockstar. use it as a party pad or maybe a romantic getaway.
this preset fills both the lobby of the apartment building and the apartment itself.

"The 27 Club" earns its name from rocker mythology, dating all the way back to the 20th century—an exclusive membership in the afterlife reserved for musicians who kick it just before the tender age of 28. In Night City alone this member list spans dozens of names across years and decades, but back in the 2000s, you didn't even have to die to join: Club 27 was just a neat little rock-n-roll themed boutique hotel on Los Lobos Blvd built by investors trying to cash in on the aesthetic of NC's counterculture.

This theme might have originally been a cheap gimmick, but the owners got more than they bargained for when artists and rockers caught wind of the name. As the Club started attracting actual rebels and edgerunners, well, that's when the membership list of its namesake tragically grew—but would I challenge you to find any location for the melancholy, wayward and transient in this city that hasn't got a body count. From unsolved deaths on the premises, overdoses, lawsuits… the hotel claimed plenty of lives while it actively checked in guests. This only increased its infamy.

Creative environment that it was, you'll hear only fond mentions of the Club in oldies. Plenty of career launching hits were scribbled down in those dingy rooms. Your dad could probably rattle off a list of location cameos and homages in popular BD releases over the years. Mention Club 27 in front of somebody at Time Machine and you'll hear all kinds of gossip, that Club 27 is where the reporter formerly known as Nancy Hartley finally defenestrated her abusive husband, that Johnny Silverhand squatted in a room for a year, and, funny guy that he was, specifically requested a spot on the 27th floor. I can't say there's much truth to those stories, but I do know, once it transformed from cheap imitation to passably authentic, Club 27 enjoyed its golden years, hosting nothing but killer parties and underground gigs, offering a cheap hideaway to NC's up and coming music legends until the 2020s.

Then Johnny Silverhand walked into Arasaka Tower and changed what it really meant to be a dead rockstar forever.

Ironically, Silverhand doesn't even meet the requirements for a 27 Club membership, but he did take the hotel with him to his alleged grave. As dust from our very own minature nuclear winter settled over the Glen, it drove away just about anyone with a pair of 'ganic lungs. The hotel closed temporarily, then permanently. Over the last few decades they tried a few things, new businesses, shoving corpo offices in there—but eventually it all just fell into disrepair.

In 2073 Valentinos finally bought the building for cheap and resolved to revive Club 27, return it to its former glory… only this time as renovated luxury condos. Funny how that works, right? Some might scream gentrification, but I will say the 'Tinos don't fuck around: even I got a little nostalgic seeing those restored interiors. Even smells the same, just has an expensive gilded edge to the decor that your average street musician won't get to enjoy anytime soon.

So is Club 27
really back? Sure, the sign is back up, but we never needed it before. You used to be able to walk down Los Lobos and actually feel music coming from that place without seeing it, vibrating in the pavement, like the tower was one big speakerplex. In a lobby decorated with paraphenalia, there's certainly a sense of quiet reverence for members of the real 27 Club. But I dunno, listeners. I just can't help but feel like we're all waiting for someone to pick up a guitar.

» compatibility:
- compatible with apartment cats - the glen. tried to leave room for locations the cat hangs out :3
- has NOT been tested with other mods that alter the apartment
- romance hangouts work but with possible issues (see below)

» possible issues:
-THIS PRESET WILL LIKELY CAUSE LAG IN THE AREA OF THE APARTMENT. contains around 2k props. older pcs, good luck.
- SLOW DOWN! driving on los lobos (street in front of the apartment) at high speeds, combined with AMM loading in many props, sometimes causes an issue where lag + momentum tosses V into a random(?) direction, usually high into the air
- AMM lag sometimes causes V to clip through the floor in the elevator and fall to their death while preset is active.
  •    if you encounter this issue, start clean (select "new preset" in AMM presets section) and don't reapply the Club 27 preset until after you're already out of the elevator in the apartment. usually only occurs if you've already  been using AMM during your current play session to either place props or spawn characters.
  •   if you miraculously do not die upon falling and become trapped in the elevator shaft:
open AMM, navigate to decor > saved propsexpand >Glen Apartment 27 sectionthen click "teleport to location"
- romance hangouts/general lobby area: NPCs will walk through the props as they move from location to location.
- the "dance" option may not be available for romance hangouts due to props
- inevitable clipping with some animations for V
- light switches may need to be interacted with multiple times to work
- the water in the zen pond ripples during rain. consider it a weather feature!
- bathtub mirror doesn't reflect v (except in photomode). this is just how the game works.
- turning off interactable candles doesn't turn off the light they cast, just the flame animation
- mirror flickers when used due to the 2nd mirror placed over the jacuzzi tub. to avoid this, you can use AMM's scan tool to despawn/remove the bathtub mirror from the preset
