About this mod

A simple companion mod, makes the target follow you as a companion upon button press.
Heavily WIP atm. Experimental version.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Changelogs
This mod is no longer maintained.

This mod requires Cyberpunk Engine Tweaks (preferably latest version) in order to work!

This mod is still heavily WIP, which means bugs are possible.

Also, do note that normal NC Citizens disappear after leaving a certain area! Only some NPC's are persistent, that should include: street vendors, shop keepers, NCPD [static ones], main characters [Judy and Panam have issues with this after you finish their story fully, trying to fix this], and some of the enemy NPC's. This means that only those will save as companions on game restart, and only those are able to follow you to the other side of the map, while the rest disappear after you leave their area, or reload the game!

How to install:
Step 1: Make sure you have Cyberpunk Engine Tweaks 1.9.2 or higher installed
Step 2: Download the mod content
Step 3: Extract the content in "PATH TO CYBERPUNK\Cyberpunk 2077" so that you have the following structure:
PATH TO CYBERPUNK\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\companion_mod\init.lua

Step 4: Start the game
Step 5: Target an NPC you want to turn into a companion and press the bound keybind (bind a key in CET) to turn them into your new companion!

How to uninstall:
Step 1: Delete
PATH TO CYBERPUNK\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\companion_mod

How to modify key bindings:
Step 1: Open CET console and go to "Keybindings", swap it out there.

A huge thank you <3 to everyone who made this mod possible and helped me figure some stuff out :
Sombra#6668 for helping me figure out how to force the NPC's to get into motion
\༺๖ۣۜ⟁ˢᵅᵐᵘᵉˡッ༻/#6969 for giving me the initial idea and helping with the research
Architect#0016 for giving me the idea of spawning flathead to steal its follower role
BroerJelle#3855 for the CET static function syntax
hr#2197 for figuring out what forces the NPC's to turn into companions on the map
The whole CET & RED4sdk dev team that provided the tools to make this possible:
