About this mod

A large part of my goal with this reshade was to reduce the sharpness and defined lines in the game. Jagged edges all over the place. I did my best combining various forms of reshade AA and depth blur to mitigate the issue. It isn't perfect, but it's better than the original. Less harsh (in my opinion). Hope you enjoy my reshade!

Another goal for this reshade was to darken the atmosphere.  My lut changes the shift in colors and is therefore an acquired taste.

I recommend trying the brighter versions if the original is too dark for your taste.  My goal was to match the original brightness of the game but maintain shadows and color shift.

Most pictures are in RTGI, but 2.0 and 2.5 are the same settings. Just no extra shadows from RTGI.  Very similar

I will be updating every so often.  Check back to see what's new!

Version 1.0 is for RTGI users.  (More shadows)

Version 1.5 brighter RTGI users

Version 2.0 is for non RTGI users.

Version 2.5 brighter non RTGI users

IN GAME SETTINGS:

Set Brightness to default
Draw Distance to Farthest
AA processing to None
SSAO to None
Motion blur OFF
Film Grain OFF
Depth of Field to None

To install:

*download newest reshade from https://reshade.me/

*select all Shaders during install

*backup current lut.png if you choose to.  Located in CODE VEIN/CodeVein/Binaries/Win64/reshade-shaders/Textures folder

*Unzip 1.0/2.0

*copy and paste lut.png into CODE VEIN/CodeVein/Binaries/Win64/reshade-shaders/Textures folder (overwrite existing lut)

*copy and paste 1.0/2.0.ini into CODE VEIN/CodeVein/Binaries/Win64 folder

*Load game, hit HOME key to bring up reshade.  Do the tutorial.  Up top there is a drop down box that will allow you to select .ini file.  select performance mode

*READ ME-------> Due to added shadows, this causes odd effects during select cutscenes (not all, most are fine).  It is unfortunately unavoidable. I recommend hotkeying MXAO and RTGI to the same key.  for normal users just hotkey MXAO.  During scenes that cause issue, turn this off.  If you don't want to put up with that, just toggle the reshade on and off durring those scenes.  You can hotkey in the settings tab of Reshade.

*Enjoy!!
