    Doesn´t work and full of issues. Not recommended, sorry.

      I know I'm a bit late, but reason it doesn't work now, is because the author last updated it 2 yrs ago. The game itself has been updated a dozen times or more since then, plus all the DLC.

    Doesn't seem to work any more. AI still start very close to me, even on a large map with fewer empires.

    I'm having the same issue as Meluiloth. Start a game on a large map, but then it only has 3 other civs plus me. Narrowed it down to this mod causing the issue by disabling them one at a time.

    Am I going crazy or does this mod lower the number of civilizations in the game? For example, I specify 10 civs to be in the game, but when I actually start playing, there is only 5.

    I tried doing this myself and couldn't make it work, so a big thanks.

    This mod seems to have issues together with the "Regroup humans" mod.

    Any way to make them work togheter?

      I doubt it. I haven't looked at how RH is set up, but it's distinctly at cross purposes with my mod.

      Mine makes no distinction between human or AI, I'm not even sure it can be made to do so.

      Now it can be modified so that the barbarians and city states are still spread out, which would allow the RH to function (at a guess, like I said, haven't looked at their code).

    This Mod is a great Idea, but unfortenetly, it doesnt work for me. I put the Folder to my other Mods ( "25 percent Eurekas and Inspirations", "Mynex's More Starting Units" and "Gigantic Map" ). After that i activated the Mod at the Main Menu and all the other Mods works fine, only this one doesnt work. Further, all the Minor Civ`s spawn next to my Capitol (giant Map, 15 CIV`s). So, whats wrong?

      Hmm... not sure. Can you run it with only this mod installed and grab the error logs for me please?

    BTW, have you looked in the database log? Because essentially the mod doesn't do anything.

    [569650.785] [Gameplay] ERROR: UNIQUE constraint failed: GlobalParameters.Name
    [569650.785] [Gameplay]: While executing - 'insert into GlobalParameters('Name', 'Value') values (?, ?);'
    [569650.785] [Gameplay]: In XMLSerializer while inserting row into table insert into GlobalParameters('Name', 'Value') with values (BARBARIAN_CAMP_MINIMUM_DISTANCE_ANOTHER_CAMP, 10, ).
    [569650.785] [Gameplay]: In XMLSerializer while updating table GlobalParameters from file Mynex_StartingDistance_GamePlayData.xml.
    [569650.785] [Gameplay] ERROR: UNIQUE constraint failed: GlobalParameters.Name

    You may want to try delete for the old value first.

      And just to be constructive, here's a version that doesn't make the game barf and skip the mod:

      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
      <GameInfo>
      <GlobalParameters>
      <elete Name="BARBARIAN_CAMP_MINIMUM_DISTANCE_ANOTHER_CAMP" />
      <Replace Name="BARBARIAN_CAMP_MINIMUM_DISTANCE_ANOTHER_CAMP" Value="10" />
      <elete Name="BARBARIAN_CAMP_MINIMUM_DISTANCE_CITY" />
      <Replace Name="BARBARIAN_CAMP_MINIMUM_DISTANCE_CITY" Value="10" />
      <elete Name="START_DISTANCE_MAJOR_CIVILIZATION" />
      <Replace Name="START_DISTANCE_MAJOR_CIVILIZATION" Value="30" />
      <elete Name="START_DISTANCE_MINOR_CIVILIZATION" />
      <Replace Name="START_DISTANCE_MINOR_CIVILIZATION" Value="15" />
      </GlobalParameters>
      </GameInfo>

      That said, I must do a mea culpa too. I had said before that one can't REPLACE a setting, but I was wrong. This is how you replace stuff.

      Thanks for the fixed version. I was so disappointed when I tried this and had THREE civs all within spitting distance of me when I first tried this.

      Thanks Moraelin! I've been running into all kinds of 'stupid errors' because of 'Replace' issues.

      I'm brain dead now, but I'll get this corrected in the morning.

    You know, this is a great idea, come to think of it. No more spawning withing spitting distance of 2 other civs, on a 4 civ Inland Sea map. Happened to me verbatim.
