About this mod

This was originally a simple test to see if the same modding principles for Star Trek Online also work the same way in Champions Online. Turns out they do! This mod swaps out the song you hear in the starting areas of Millennium City (Westside) with Superman's four-minute long "march" theme by John Williams, used in the original Superman movies.

Superman in Millennium City
By Michael

As stated above, this began as a test to see if modding in Champions Online works the same way as it does in Star Trek Online.  And, as it turns out, it's exactly the same!

With this knowledge in mind, I may start creating separate projects that add additional tracks, hero themes, and/or various audio replacements throughout the game in the future.  But for now, you can fully enjoy the classic "Superman's March" by the famous John Williams from the original movies whenever you happen to be in Westside!  (This is the large section of Milllenium City that new heroes quest in once they leave the city center.  You'll hear it once you start making your way to Kodiak.)

To install, simply unzip the compressed file until you're left with the "sound" folder.  Then, assuming the game was installed via Steam, just place the sound folder into the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Champions Online\Champions Online\Live\localdata

If you're using Arc, the file tree should be very similar.

Important!  Please notice that within the file tree there are TWO "Champions Online" folders.  You need to go into that second one, because the first one also contains a "localdata" folder, which can cause much confusion.  (Your file tree should look like the images below.)

Any future mods will also go into this folder.  And best of all - the patcher will completely ignore it!  With this in mind, you can expect more Champions projects from me (and hopefully from other people) in the near future!  For now, enjoy hearing John Williams!  And if you enjoy other games from Cryptic, feel free to check out my Star Trek Online complete TNG conversion here on Nexus!
