The purpose of this patch is to replace the English voiceovers in the game with the Japanese ones from Japanese console version of the game. While the game was made by a western developer with English language as its primary one, Castlevania is still a long-running Japanese franchise and for the Japanese release of the first Lords of Shadow game Konami went all out hiring an All-Star cast for the game's Japanese dub, featuring the voice acting talents of Keiji Fujiwara, Akio Otsuka, Banjo Ginga, Tomokazu Sugita and many others. To celebrate the 2021 Halloween we're releasing this patch which will make this excellent dub compatible with the PC release of the game, hopefully opening it up to a wider audience. The trailer below, originally directed for the Japanese console release by the renowned Hideo Kojima, will give you a glimpse of what you can expect from this release.
PS. Because the "Reverie" and "Resurrection" DLCs were never released in Japan, there is no Japanese audio available for them and as such they remain in English.
