What is BL2: Recoded?
BL2: Recoded is a complete reimagining of Borderlands 2, pushing the boundaries of customization and chaos. With over 200 new weapons, shields, relics, and class mods, the loot pool is bigger, bolder, and more explosive than ever! The skill trees for every Vault Hunter have been overhauled to unlock fresh synergies and playstyles, offering brand new unique playstyles for all your favourite characters. With more gear modifications coming from a hybrid system, 20 new accessories and 2 new manufacturers, every gun in BL2: Recoded feels brand new and unique.But that’s just the start. BL2: Recoded introduces new mini raid bosses to provide a new challenge while roaming the wastelands of Pandora. All of these new aspects, combined with various QoL features, new rarities, quest rewards and numerous UI changes, provide a fresh new experience for new and old Borderlands 2 players alike. Whether you're chasing god-rolls or just craving lootsplosions galore, BL2: Recoded is the definitive way to rediscover a fan-favorite universe with a fresh twist!
On top of all of this, this mod is 100% coop compatible, allowing you to explore with friends (if you so desire)!

Installation
- Install the Python SDK for BL2
- Download the other required SDK mods (linked above) and place them in the sdk_mods folder (.../Steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/sdk_mods)
- Download the BL2: Recoded ZIP (linked above) and drag the BL2Recoded.blcm file into your Binaries folder (.../Steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/Binaries)
- Launch Borderlands 2 and press your console key (usually the ` key, located above Tab). Type 'exec BL2Recoded.blcm' and press Enter. If nothing pops up after pressing Enter, you should be good to go.
- When you reload the game next time you want to play the pack, you can press the console key, Arrow Key Up and Enter to quickly execute the mod off a fresh launch.
To confirm if the mod is running, there's a few ways you can check:
- Go to the "Select Character" menu and confirm the character classes have changed (Stalker, Pistolero, Commando, Eridian, Necromancer & Maniac)
- Create a new character and check your inventory. You should have all 4 weapon slots open, your starting 3 guns with a new skin, a new grenade & relic.
- Go to the Badass Rank screen and confirm it reads "Running BL2: Recoded v1.0.0"
Additional Notes
- This mod is designed to be run on its own, not alongside any other text mods. When playing BL2: Recoded, do not execute any additional mods or things will break.
- If you do wish to add some QoL text mods to the pack, open the mod in BLCMM and import the mods (File -> Import Mod Files)
- This mod is not designed to be a difficult mod. While a few challenges have been added to the pack, the mod as a whole is very much a casual experience. If you are expecting this pack to be challenging, sorry but this is not the case.
