Title : Oasis
Author(s) : Shawn "AmranX" Davison
============================================================

This Readme has been updated on August 8th, 2010. (modified 9/23/10 for autoinstaller)
Release version: 1.0 (July 25, 2010)
Mapslots: 45

Set among an unprofitable and abandoned Atlas excavation within the mountains of Pandora, a lone CL4P-TP has been left behind to watch over a host of transition points scattered throughout the Eridian ruins.

This is the first release of the new Oasis hub and includes 45 slots for custom levels. The goal of this project was to create a new transition area for user content which fits into the world of Borderlands while retaining and improving upon function.

Use the switch near the entrance to swap though the level groups, and then activate the transition points to travel to the chosen level. Additional installation instructions can be found below.

Further information and content can be found in the HUB list thread on the Gearbox forums:

Installation
============================================================

(Instructions edited for automatic installer - Method 3 advised)

There are three different methods that can be used to reach the oasis if you do not already have it in your fast travel list. Instructions for each are listed below:

1. Using The Console:
NOTE: Do not use this method if you're using version 1.31 of Borderlands. Use the map replacement or WillowTree methods below instead.
This method involves enabling the console by binding it to a key and entering the show command. From there, the Oasis can then be loaded using the open command.

-Install Dr Zeds patch if you have not already.

-Navigate to the config directory located at ..\Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config

-Open Willowinput.ini and search for the text "ConsoleKey". (Without quotes) Change this to ConsoleKey=Tilde and then save.

-Run Borderlands, once you're at the main menu, press the tilde key to open the console. Type "show" (Again, without quotes) and you will see a few commands come up. Ignore them and close the console by pressing the tilde key once more.

-Select single player, followed by the character you want to unlock the Oasis for. (And a playthrough if you have beaten the game with said character.) Nothing will happen, this is normal.

-Open the console one final time, and type "Open W_Scrap_Oasis_P". (Without quotes) The Oasis level will load. Once loaded, a message should appear at the top of the screen stating that the Oasis outpost has been discovered. (This will place the Oasis into the fast travel list) You now have the Oasis fast travel point!

2. Temporary Map Replacement:
This method involves temporarily swapping out a Borderlands level with Oasis, loading it in game to discover the fast travel point, then switching back the files. I used Arid_Arena_Coliseum_P for this example, but switching out any self contained level should work just fine.

-Navigate to your main Borderlands directory, and into ..\borderlands\WillowGame\CookedPC\Maps\Arid

-Rename or backup Arid_Arena_Coliseum_P.umap (Should be second file from the top in the Arid directory)

-Take W_Scrap_Oasis_P.umap from this archive, place it into the Arid directory, and rename it to Arid_Arena_Coliseum_P.umap

-Run Borderlands, select a character as normal and enter the game. Travel to the Fyrestone Coliseum and the Oasis will load. Once loaded, a message should appear at the top of the screen stating that the Oasis outpost has been discovered. (This will place the Oasis into the fast travel list)

-Exit the game, replace the modified level with the backup of the Coliseum from before. Everything's back to normal, and you now have the Oasis fast travel point!

3. Use WillowTree:
This method involves opening your character save in WillowTree and then adding the Oasis point to your fast travel list from there. (Information from Darkdriums post here: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showpost.php?p=1935865&postcount=42 )

-It is recommended that you backup your character save first, it can be found in ..\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\SaveData (the installer willowtree.bat automatically does this)

-Open WillowTree, and then open your save in it. (Click the icon at the top left)

-Switch to the "General Info" tab, click on the "New" button on the right side, then on the arrow on the dropdown menu and scroll down to find Oasis. Click on it to add it to the list of "Visited Locations."

-Finally, save your file using the Save button. It should display a confirmation: "Saved WSG to: ..\My Games\Borderlands\SaveData\Save000X.sav"

Adding Levels to the Oasis Hub
============================================================

To add downloaded content to the hub:
-Follow any specific instructions included in the release if there are additional files other then a umap.
-Place the umap into the ..\borderlands\WillowGame\CookedPC\Maps\MapSlots folder, and rename it to mapslot#.umap if required, replacing the old one in the process. (# being the value of the map slot you wish to load it from)
-Use the corresponding level transition in the Oasis Hub to load the custom level.
