Eridian Artifacts

Eridian Artifacts work similarly to Borderlands 2 Relics with few differences.

They are equipped in Grenade Mod slot, since there is no Relic slot in Borderlands 1.

Upon equipping they prevent the use of grenades, but they provide various stat bonuses instead.

The stats on the Artifact are calculated depending on:

  • Artifact Level
  • Number of Rings
  • Parts

Artifact Rings

The amount of Rings directly corresponds to Artifact Rarity. It also does significantly increase Artifact stats.

For normal Artifacts:

  • No Rings - White Rarity
  • 1 Ring - Green Rarity
  • 2 Rings - Blue Rarity
  • 3 Rings - Purple Rarity

In case of Legendary Artifacts:

  • No Rings - Yellow Rarity
  • 1 Ring - Dark Yellow Rarity
  • 2 Rings - Orange Rarity
  • 3 Rings - Dark Orange Rarity

Above Level 36 Artifacts will always spawn with at least 1 Ring.

Parts

The amount of good parts is represented by Prefix in binary.

Prefix is sum of Left Side and Right Side Parts. Both Left Side and Right Side parts come with quality from 0 to 4.
For example if Artifact spawned with Left Side 2 and Right Side 3 the resulting Prefix will be 0101.

Available Prefixes:

  • 0000
  • 0001
  • 0010
  • 0011
  • 0101
  • 0110
  • 0111
  • 1000

Above Level 18 both Left Side 0 and Right Side 0 parts are no longer generated.
