About this mod

Removes certain visual effects for passive shards. Also swaps out "Teps Oceus" voice line for a more generic voice effect.

Certain visual effects for passive shards are much too obtrusive. There are a number of mods that try to address this, but generally they're very much directed by the author's specific desires. I aimed to make multiple options for different peoples' preferences. I have three versions of this mod currently and can make more combinations if requested:

  • Quiet Teps Oceus, No Money is Power, No Detective Eye
  • Quiet Teps Oceus, No Money is Power, No Detective Eye, No Regeneration
  • Quiet Teps Oceus, No Money is Power, No Detective Eye, No Regeneration, No Words of Wisdom

Please note that there is a minor gameplay effect to how I implemented the Detective Eye change -- I attempted to simply disable the visual ring, but this resulted in the pickup effect failing as well. Inspired by wgnwaugvwh's mod, I opted to instead expand the ring beyond the visual boundaries of the screen. This results in the Detective Eye properties -- both the pickup and wall revealing effects -- to apply to the entire screen. A boon, really, but just so you're aware that the mod does make a small gameplay change.
Also swaps out "Teps Oceus" voice line for a more generic voice effect -- in this case, I used the "Heavy Weapon" effect for a bit of variation. I can likely mute or swap out lines for other shards if needed, or if you'd like a version of this mod without the line changed, please let me know.
