You've seen it dozens of times before, but us ooga booga strength build players have been shafted time and time again. I finally offer us a take on the Dragon Slayer that I believe lives up to the dream of brandishing a heavy hunk of raw deadly metal. A sword that takes power and skill to wield and can truly devastate a foe.
  • Also comes with Gut's Hawk Raider sword, which weighs much less and handles better at the cost of damage and stopping power.
  • Update 2.0 also comes with Griffith's and Casca's swords. Slightly improved T4 regular weapons with wind trails.
  • Enemies will be completely knocked off their feet by the sheer weight of the sword.
  • Heavy hit effects and audio for when you slam the weapon into dirt, stone, as well as people (thanks to Soviet Cat).
  • Very weighty handling, tuned to feel like a massive piece of iron while still being usable effectively.
  • Able to cut through armor and helmets with relative ease.
  • Comes with a "100 man challenge" wave to put your greatsword skills to the test.
  • All swords have subtle wind trails

This is a difficult weapon to use. Here are some tips:

  • You MUST make wide, slow, drastic movements to swing this weapon properly. The further apart your hands are on the handle, the better.
  • You can grab the blade and flat of the blade to manipulate it better for niche situations.
  • This weapon can cut through any armor in the game with enough power behind your swing, but stabbing is much more difficult. However if you do land a stab it will be very damaging.
  • Holding the blade upside down is a great way to create a shield. You can even block arrows and fireballs with it.
  • If you don't have enough room or distance to swing the blade, it's good enough to push the blade into enemies.
  • It's easier to continuously swing the sword around you, defending all sides, rather than trying to switch direction by stopping the sword.
  • Slamming the flat of the sword into enemies will deal strong blunt damage.
  • Slow motion will improve the overall handling of the sword as well as the force generated from hits.
  • You can use the sword to vault into the air, giving you enough air time to wind up a strike. Jump a moment after you push the sword against the ground. Don't penetrate the ground or it might get stuck. HOWEVER, your base jump height is actually deminished because of how heavy the sword is.
  • The sword is semi-usable in one hand, but you really need to build momentum for it to be effective.

If you find the handling too poor for your taste, try changing the mass in the item json with notepad. The Dragon Slayer is close to 200kg (completely unusable in B&S), but the default weight I settled on was 35kg. 10-20kg would be reasonably heavy but with better handling. The greatswords in B&S both weigh 3.5kg. Please note that if you lower mass, it will also decrease the damage of the swings a little.

Colossal Weapon Framework - Make your own ridiculously sized weapon feel like one
If you want to make a similar large weapon, you can make a mod dependent on this one.
  • Use the custom damagers for slash and pierce (or make your own) called SDSSlash and SDSPierce. SDSSlash cuts through armor. (If you have a blunt weapon, you can copy and rename the massive/devastating blunt damagers from Medieval MegaPack if you wish.)
  • Create a physics material inside of your unity project named SDSBlade, and assign the physics material to your colliders. This will give it the custom effects.
That's it! Just make sure to mark this mod as a requirement and your giant sword or weapon will be 200% more amazing.
