A collection of tweaks to combat with an emphasis on balanced realism. More realistic locational damage and ragdoll physics as well as various other improvements. Re-designed to work seamlessly with other mods without requiring any patches.

A collection of tweaks to combat to crank the immersion factor up to 11. More realistic locational damage and ragdoll physics as well as various other improvements listed below:

  • Overhauled locational damage system re-designed to not require any future mod patches. Arms and legs don't take nearly as much damage as the head, neck, or torso, but dismemberments are still lethal. Limbs are also still good targets to aim for to make a defensive enemy stagger so that you can follow up with a chest stab or neck slash.
  • New ragdoll physics featuring a modified version of SketchCritic's ragdoll from his absolutely fantastic Ragdoll Physics Overhaul mod. My version is a bit lighter and closer to the vanilla ragdoll, so for maximum realism, download Ragdoll Physics Overhaul and use the compatible version of Slugga's Combat Overhaul.
  • Reworked knockouts - Knock the enemy down with a leg sweep, shield bash, handle smack, or a good ol' arrow to the knee but beware, they get up and back into the fight faster now.
  • Archery overhaul - Arrow damage is dynamic. Full draws usually kill in 1-2 torso shots, but half draws might take 3 or more. Arrows have more mass/momentum and do a better job of sticking in the target as well.
  • A few of the old vanilla weapons and shields have been re-added to the spawn book. NPC's have a chance to spawn with these as well as the longsword.
  • Tweaks to the material properties of body parts and wood.
  • Enhanced throwing physics - Decreased air resistance and added natural-feeling rotation when throwing swords and axes.
  • Potions heal faster.
  • Arrow quivers can now be placed on your hips, an arguably more practical position for them.

An updated 3.0 Ultra-Realism version is now available. This version removes telekinesis, spells, and slow-mo, as well as decreases jump height and max hp to 50.

A new "Masochist" version is also available. Requires Sharp_AI and is not compatible with Lite Vanilla Waves.
Designed to make you cry. For both of the people who say Sharp_AI on its own is still too easy.
Includes all the features of Ultra-Realism, but with much stronger and faster enemies. Oh, and you have 10 hp :)

Slugga's Lite Vanilla Waves FPS Booster is available as an optional download. It simply reduces the max number of NPCs for most vanilla waves and makes 1v1 waves actually 1v1. Most normal difficulties are capped at 2, 3, and 4 max NPCs for wave 1, 2 and 3, respectively. The warzone waves have the most at 4, 5, and 6.
