About:
This mod introduces Bolt Pistol, a powerful sidearm used by multiple armed forces of the Imperium of Man of the Warhammer 40k universe. Just like other "bolt" weapons, Bolt Pistol uses miniature missiles called "bolts" as ammunition. Bolt Rounds use a tiny amount of conventional explosive charge to give them the initial impulse, strong enough to force the bolt out of the barrel and ignite the bolt's rocket propellant. The bolt is then accelerated away towards the target under its own power. Standard bolt ammunition is designed to penetrate the target and then detonate, causing severe internal damage and leaving little opportunity for survival of its target. Despite futuristic concept, bolt weapons are not entirely fictional as they have roots in real-life Gyrojet and Recoilless Rifle weapons which are based around similar concepts.
Installation:
1) Unzip and copy BoltPistol folder into BladeAndSorcery_Data\StreamingAssets\ folder in the Blade & Sorcery installation folder.
2) Load the game, Bolt Pistol will be available to spawn form the "Firearms" category of the Weapon Book.
3) Optional: download and install WH40k Chainsword mod
Known issues:
- Melee weapons and shields block bolt projectiles due to game engine limitations.
- Reload is currently simulated via a time delay
- Particle effects are not yet implemented
- Explosion damage is not yet fully simulated
- Animation for trigger being pressed is not yet implemented
