   screenshot   It is not installed on the steam version, which I just did not do, I danced with a tambourine for 2 days. When trying to update/install RT, a window appears with the message "The RT upgrade has failed, a fatal error in the BattleTech install was encountered, please ensure you have a legitimate copy of BT"

      Well im not seeing a ticket on our discord with the logs and all so we actually can see whats going

      i have a legitimate copy of BT,  if you're talking about it.   ..  I looked at the logs and realized that it hurts :) There should not be any extra files in the BT folder, the installer considers this to be a sign of a lack of a license. 
      
      deleted all unnecessary files, and the installation seems to have started.

      The files it looks for are only there on cracked copies of BT, there is no other way for them to be there

      in fact, the mod is very good, just brilliant, it's a pity that they themselves created the games were not so energetic and attentive to the little things and the spirit of BT. It turned out great, but crashes are very frequent during the game. It’s not a pity and donate, if not for the manifestation of rudeness.

      I shall sorely be missing the donation we dont even remotely care for, all these millions we wont be making now, such a terrible shame

      I ended up getting the same error after updating it installed fine yesterday and now it claims i have a non legit copy. (which btw there is literally 100% nothing wrong with those that cant afford to buy the game and pirate it) so your little launcher is bugged.

      We do not and will not support those who have pirated the game. If you want to play RT, purchase the game and use the legit copy, if not then you won't be able to play.
      
      If you believe the launcher is wrong, file a ticket on discord as per our rules and we will investigate

       This was the most toxic modding community i've ever seen with extreme nonsenses like ''we don't need your donations'' but care to share how much traffic your moronic installer is generating everytime it is launched?? But you can't depend on ''poor donations'' so an installer which is actually creating more problems for users is fine, right?? What a joke, no wonder why Battletech has such low downloads even if the game has enormous potential for modding...

       The only toxic people here are the ones pirating the game or yourself with this nonsense.
       
       As for creating more problems for users, it's quite the opposite, install related tickets have dropped by 90% since our switch to it.
       
       Not sure what the hell you mean by traffic generated by the installer, but I'll assume it's related to some ad revenue you think it generates since the rest of your rant is about donations. To date the installer has generated exactly 0 dollars for us. Yes it has a donate button, but that literally just directs you nexus's donate button, that's it. The installer serves no ads, the only traffic it generates is what is necessary to download from github, no ads, no nexus traffic, nothing.
       
       Try coming to a conversation with facts next time.

       To AVOOD & XARAI:
       In 1982 when is was 12 years old, I mowed lawns for $5 each to earn the money I needed to get the things I wanted.  When I was 14, I got a job while going to school to make money to get the things I wanted.  I put the extra effort in.  I can tell you are not from my generation.  You are from the entitled, lazy, give me what I think I deserve part of your newer generation.  If you are not creative enough to earn the extra $30 or $40 you need for a real copy of the game, then you are going to have a real failure of a life when you have to face the bigger and harder things.  So needless to say, I do not feel sorry for you or others that want pity because they say they can not afford a $35 game.  I can't afford a Ferrari, but I don't whine about it or justify stealing one.
