Constant weapon jamming in the early game renders an AC20 virtually useless...
This means my starting lance, which spawned with a Yen Lo Wang, has 3 fire capable mechs, and one walking brick, as it's all but useless when the AC20 jams on the first shot... Every... Single... Time...
I understand there's supposed to a be roll by the pilot to clear the jam, but it's a miracle when it does, and since I'm only just starting out (and having sold the Wasp, which was my 5th mech) I have little choice but to field a mech that is really only good for ablative armour, and the (practicly nonexistant) chance it'll do something useful in melee...
Is there something I am missing, as this is getting beyond ridiculous?
^%& normal autocannons aren't even supposed to have a jam chance in Battletech. I wish THIS "feature" was an option than can be toggled off where it should be.
Yeah, I always remembered it being a feature of the UAC's and RAC's, due to their much higher rate of fire...
I have come to realise why the AC20 was jamming quite as much as it was too... I started with a Yen Low Wang which, be default, has 2 stacks of AC20 Caseless ammo, which has an additional +2 recoil so, when combined with the AC20's own +2 recoil, the total default recoil is +4 which (if I understand the mechanics correctly) amplify the default jam chance, hence jamming almost every shot...
Since getting my pilots upto around 5-6 Gunnnery, I do seem to be experiencing fewer jams now...
On a side note, despite the "complaint" above, I'm loving Roguetech... Though a little more brutal than I'd expect from the vanilla game, it is, otherwise, what the vanilla game should have been...
So many features Roguetech introduces (such as no free armour repairs, no instant mech assembly etc), that should have been features of the default experience...
Weapon jamming = AC20 practicly useless... (6 comments)

Now I'm just missing 70+% shots... Feels like damn'd Xcom all over again... *sigh*
