Changelogs
The Rise of the Scavengers mod contains nine (9) new Flashpoints, eighteen (18) new “Scavenger” ‘Mech variants, a number of unique custom
‘Mechs, many of which can be acquired by the player, along with a number
of gameplay and economy changes, as well as a few surprises. It is set
in 2910, as the Aurigan Coalition is forming, and it intended to be
significantly more difficult than the original game.

Rise of the Scavengers supports Career mode only. It uses the HBS
built-in mod loader, NOT ModTek. BattleTech 1.9.1 has been tested for
compatibility with macOS 10 Catalina and macOS 11 Big Sur as well as
Windows 10. BattleTech is NOT supported on Apple Silicon. It has not
been tested for use with mods other than ones included.

Immediately after the first day of a new Career, the date is set to
2910 and the initial four MechWarriors are added to the Barracks. They
are the same four starting MechWarriors from the original campaign:
Behemoth, Dekker, Glitch and Medusa.

The map reflecs the 2910 borders of the Inner Sphere, including the
newly formed Aurigan Coalition. The Capellan borders are in retreat at
this time as House Liao is slowly forced out of the area, withdrawing
coreward.

Combat
Light and medium Turrets act sooner. Sensor and Spotting distance has
been increased. Destroying the right or left torso section of a Mech no
longer causes a pilot injury and the OpFor now has the same chance as
the player to score a critical hit. Pilots now have a chance to retain
their evasion pip when fired upon based upon their Pilot skill. The AI
behavior has been altered, notably allowing the OpFor to reserve and
favor rear shots.

The skill level of the OpFor pilots has been increased across the board.
Procedurally generated contracts no longer spawn units with degraded
armor. Variants of each base BattleMech model now carry upgraded
weaponry.

Events
The impact of events has been slightly increased. Approximately ten
(10) new Events have been added. However, most of them will not trigger
until a Flashpoint, contract, or dependent Event has been completed.

Economy
Rise of the Scavengers makes acquiring new BattleMechs more difficult by
altering the chances of getting ‘Mech parts as salvage as well as
decreasing the number and type of parts available in stores. However,
the selling value of ‘Mech parts and components has been increased. Mech
repair costs have also been increased. In addition, there are
significantly fewer MechWarriors available for hire, although those
available ten to be more skilled than in the past.

Scavenger Contracts
Rise of the Scavengers includes five (5) randomly generated “Scavenger”
missions. Each of these missions features the word “Scavenger” in the
contract name and vary in difficulty from two to four and half (2 - 4.5)
skulls.

These contracts each have one or more unique “Scavenger” BattleMechs
among the OpFor and are tied to an Event. Successfully completing the
contract gives the player an ongoing chance at spawning the associated
Event, which may result in the player adding a unique ‘Mech to their
Mech Bay.
