    I think you're taking in this in the wrong direction by making these mods unremoveable and/or default parts of each mech.

    You'll lose way too many users with the strange departure from canon. Think of it like this, no matter how logically a certain piece of kit seems to fit with a particular mech to -your- mind (Awesome and PPC enhancing for example) your logic will always be primarily subjective. Multiply that subjectivity by 60 or however many mechs and the odds of finding even one person who agrees with you about 100% of the mod and will therefore download it is infitesimally small. Make them all optional and let the user decide which should apply to which mech and suddenly your userbase goes in the opposite direction and becomes infinitely large :)

    However, you're in the right direction in so far as creating utility-esque gear that could be sold in shops so people can further specialize their favorite mechs in a particular role.
    As long as this equipment has a suitably high cost both in credits and in tonnage/slots, i think a lot of people would use this mod.
    Rather than including this by default for each mech class, having a special kind of "specialization technology kit" of which each of these is an example, of which a person could choose any that would fit and apply it to the mech of their choice.. If you do that instead I think you'll sidestep all of the doubt you've gotten here and will pick up many users.
    ADDITIONAL content is good. Changing core content is bad. If your goal is to have it used and enjoyed by the highest number of people, at least.

      Thank you for your post. I take the special equipment from this mod and put it into my Heavy Metal Plus mod. There it is only avaiable in Stores, ig you have luck.
      I know that not all Mechs have the right special equipment for lore. And I know not all players will like this mod. But I think also that hardcore fans will choose one of the big Main Mods for Battletech and my little modification that i write will not play a role for them.    

      If you want, you can write my what bonuses where corerct to lore for the different Mechs. And we can make the mode great ;)

    love the mod, only down side for me is, now certain mechs have a fixed item in head, and head has only 1 slot, i would like to be able to remove the item from the head, which your mods fixed there, and place for example the  "cockpit mod" there for resisting injuries, i have tried messing around in the json setting files to see if i can removed the fixed setting to remove them and place the cockpit mod there, can anyone maybe help with this, please

    Just what I was looking for
    Wished mechs could been better built than these junks the game lore presents since lost mech end up into lost items.

    Maybe start all over without adding all the non-canon items

    non Lore specific. = not interesting.

    Awesome its specific PPC mech so its must have +15% PPC power --30% PPC weapon HEAT
    Zeus have advance and powerfull cooling system - so -40% HEAT at all.

      Hey, this is a good start.

      Awesome: TRO 3025 -> Defence skill is very good for this machine, so i have give him the robust frame. In the TRO it is descript, that the Pilots fires often only fire two PPC. My first Idea was like your idea, but i think it is to mighty and don't fit the lore.
      Zeus TRO 3025 -> It is a very quick machine for his Tonnage so I give him the +1 iniatitive. This I do with some faster mech for their tonnage.
      I think it is lore for the two mechs. I found nothing about a cooling system for the Zeus.

      Please let us discus. I kwow that I don't now all over the Mechs. If you have more Ideas we can speak about it it we can try it in the next update.

      What other mechs you mean with strange boni? The Crab and King Crab could be. For this two mechs I found nothing what make them special. So i thinking about their Weapons confuguration and diceded to push the player to use AC20 and large lasers. It is a good Idea i think to give some mechs disadventages for untipically weapons. The Centurion can get +10% heat with SRMs and LRM for example. This will strength the Trebuchet.

      I only read in forums that some player want a mode like this, but not Modder start with it. This is my first try. And i know that many people have many meanings about the lore and have one or two Mechs their love and want to give them very good boni. So I think it is not possibly to make all people happy.

      About Zeus exellent cooling system, you can read in Gray Death Legion books series, finall battle at factory.

      About others?? No one care about mass of mech and its position ..its booring man.

      What is more importants its a unique abilities.
      See,, in books and lore, NO ONE can rebuild mechs variants. only some Hero mechs in homefactory only.

      Turn logic on, example Awesome , this heavy mech equip with 3 PPC, so its PPCs cpecific mech right? Its made to be in that role.
      +there is MANY factrories,brands, etc. Games forget about is and putt all guns to the few categories, what is wrong.
      So Awesome, must have advance PCCs guns, made epecialy for him, and cooling system oriented to PPC heat managent. + maybe some energy capacitor etc.
      more example Assssin - advance guide system.

      All of this gave some personality in eachs MEchs models, you understand now??

      It sounds a little bit unfriendly to me.
      I have read the Grey Death Trilogie befor 30 Years. Now I use only the TRO 3025 from 1992.
      You can discuss with me, but please used a normal language for it and not blame me.

    I agree that its a good start, although some of the quirks do seem a bit too strong.....the +100m view range for example. Also some of the units have multiple quirks that really make them too strong. I do like where you are going with this, but some of the mechs also have negative quirks that offset their stronger quirks to even out the mechs. Have yoy thought about putting some of them (the negative quirks) in as well. For example, the firestarter, could get a chance to catch fire resulting in +10-40 heat due to its overabundance of flamers....

      What do you mean wtih multipiple quirks? Like the cooling jacket? I put two tier 1 heatsinks upgrades together. The vindicator overheat, but it takes more rounds. Can you please say with boni are to strong? +100m Range I choose, because it is instaled on the head. So yoi have no chance to get another upgrade for this Location. I agree to rudece the view for the Stalker and Shadowhawk.

      hmmm, the +100m view range is already in with the "rangefinder" that can be found in stores (sometimes).That item starts with standard +25, then goes to what +50, +100, +125m view ranges or something like that. My thoughts have been that a measly +25 isn't worth it. +100 though, oh yeah that's definitely worth it. Considering in both campaign and career and especially in the early game that the AI's mechs can somehow spot me and shoot me from beyond my detection range … and no active spotters for them, well I look at something like the rangefinder as being something that helps even the score.

      Right! I see it like you. Some Command Modules also Extended the range of view. Only for 25m but to all mechs. In my last game I was Attacked from a blackjack. this was cool. Becasue the locust M variants fires also Missiles on my and I could not see them. The locust has often his turn before all other mechs. Also the trebuchet. And I think it is a differnet fealing to the Vanilla game.

    the title made me think that these items were available in stores and could be put on most any mech. The description and the spreadsheet cleared up that misconception however. This does look interesting, looking forward to seeing how you develop this mod.

      I can make it, that the Special Equipment from this mod, can be brought in Stores. Do you think this is a good idea? I will be a seperate mod or an ADD On for this mod.
