The sprint melee is making this game turn into medieval brawling fest - nobody wants to use guns anymore if within melee range lol. Though works wonders for my melee built Banshee - deal 160+ damage and then gain 5-6 ticks of evasion. Anything not in melee range can barely touch me.
But too much melee and too little ballistics begins to turn me off. How exactly do you turn off the melee in sprint range?
EDIT: nvm, didn't know I can edit .json files in notepad. Done lol
Currently at ver. 1.9 and this mod does allow me to choose my melee vector (oh thank you so very much) as long as I don't start my turn adjacent (working as intended?).
But!!!
The "sprint to melee" portion does not work. Tried holding V while in the "Move" mode. No joy. Any suggestions?
With the move option selected, click directly on the enemy mech. A number of optional attack vectors will appear as Arrow dots. Click on the attack direction dot you desire and hit 'Attack'.
Your little metal friend will run off to smash from the chosen direction.
Yup, confirm it works fine with 1.8. I love the additional tactical flexibility this gives, e.g. the ability to ensure your mech ends melee in cover.
At first I really liked the 'sprint to melee' feature, and the AI is definitely not shy about sprinting in to kick my boys in the face. But once you start getting Firestarters and grasshoppers, it begins to seem a bit OP, and I found that I was starting to focus just a bit toooo much on Melee builds. Melee is pretty cool and all, but realistically it really doesn't make much sense.
Luckily its super simple to turn the 'sprint to punch' off.
Is it me or is this mod redundant? I don't have the mod installed but can still move to different spots for melee, perhaps it's part of the vanilla game now? I was wrong, this still makes it function differently than vanilla, confirm it still works with 1.7.x btw.
Another quick question: Does the AI also use Melee in sprint range or is it limited to normal movement? Wouldn't want to have too many advantages over the AI, just being able to do what it does is enough for my taste.

Although I still have enough move point..

I see the different options on the map, but I can't quite figure out how to choose anything other than the default.

Great mod, and highly recommended in either case
