    I am curious.
Would this work with https://www.nexusmods.com/battletech/mods/148 ?
or not due it "editing" the map aswell?

For all I know it might 'work' per se in that it doesn't cause any conflicts, but I think that the Inner Sphere Map mod renders this mod redundant as it removes the story entirely and starts you off with the Argo already in your hands.

    Cool mod.

I was digging through the json files and I found some interesting stuff, using this mod's edits as an example:

    a) "map_travel_3" is the tag that unlocks the rest of the star systems.
    b) each star system that is unlocked by "map_travel_3" has that tag in its json file under TravelRequirements
    c) The list of TravelRequirements are defined in SimGameConstants.json

So, it should be possible to add new travelrequirements and unlock each part of the map in other milestones... unlocking them slowly over the course of the campaign instead of all at once. Tags can also be removed in milestones, and both tag additions and removals can themselves have requirements of some sort.

I wonder if its possible to tie the unlock to your character's origin story selection at character creation, and/or based upon faction reputation? That would be awesome.

EDIT: It looks like we could definitely add star system unlocks to the character creation options (they're in the lifepathNode folder). Cool.

Hmm, that would certainly be interesting, but with the relatively small chunk of space we are currently working with, there isn't enough room for all options to be relevant. For instance, you could tie Davion space into you selecting Federated Suns as your family's place of origin, but you can't do the same with Lyran or Draconis space.

Would be nice if this was zipped with something that doesn't require a 3rd party program to open. Otherwise great little mod!

After some people experienced problems with the original .7z version, I uploaded a second one that uses a standard .zip format. Both are currently available and work fine AFAIK.

Will this include mission for other planets or do we need to download a mod for that? I know one is available as I recall seeing it someplace.

All this mod does is unlock the full map after Weldry. There are other mods that I highly recommend in conjunction with this that do affect mission frequency, difficulty, etc.

Missions will be business as usual on the unlocked planets, but once again I highly recommend Butterybunzzz' Removed Story Difficulty Boost & Planet Difficulty Variety mod in conjunction with this one.

Would like to ask if this by chances interferes with achievements on Steam?
Regardless thanks for this mod, I may have to consider starting a new game for this.

I am not sure if it interferes with steam achievements, but something tells me it does not. I know I got one for destroying 500 mechs while testing this mod, at which point several other mods were active as well, but I am not sure if this mod in particular affects steam achievements.

Just curious if there is a way to open map without using mod loader or modtek..i dont use either of them..so i look for mods that dont need them.

Without mod loader or modtek, your only option is to edit the milestone files directly using a program like Notepad++.

The full map is opened up when map_travel_3 is triggered, so look for milestones that affect your map travel. In this case, I used the post-Weldry milestone and added map_travel_3 immediately after where it listed map_travel_2a.

I am not sure what the problem is, as when I download it the result is a .7z file. I can try re-uploading it if the problem is still persisting.

EDIT: Uploaded a version in .zip format. I hope it works better.

    Hi,

Thanks for this mod, but is there another way to unlock full map if we have already obtained the argo?

For an exisitng campaign, you'd have to edit your next milestone (whatever that may be) to unlock the map and then complete that milestone, at which point you could change it back and then use this for the next campaign.
