About this mod

Instead of having every character have guaranteed 3 talents in their stats, this mod slightly randomizes it, so that it varies from 2-4, with 3 still being by far the most likely. There is even a tiny chance you will stumble upon someone really special... .
Optional combination with "Tryout Talents"

/////Support Stop/////
This mod is discontinued since I have long since moved away from Battle Brothers, and can't invest the time (, or in case of DLC even real money) to simply keep the mods updated. Instead of deleting or hiding it, I am leaving the mod in a permanent "As is" state, so future modders can still find it, and look through the files to learn the manipulation procedures, just like I have done before with formerly dead/discontinued modding concepts in Battle Brothers too.
In this regard I encourage and allow everyone to use all the resources within and develop them further.

Mod Description:

This mod modifies the talent generation script so that only 80% of characters come out with 3 talents. 8% will then be below average with mere 2 talents to show, while nearly all the remaining percent will fall towards gifted brothers, that develop 4 stat-talents, and are slightly more likely to have higher star values in those too.

I previously had it so 2 and 4 star characters would hold the balance, but for some odd reason I had to run all over the map in my testing to find a single 4 star brother, while 2 stars were relatively abundant. Probably really bad luck, but I saw potential for game annoyance, and so I shifted the scales.

There is an optional file that combines this mod with "Tryout Talents", so you can see a characters' aptitudes beforehand.(see named screenshot) If the original author should be uncomfortable with this, I might remove this addition later on however.

Installation:
- Can be easily installed by dropping the .zip into the games' /data folder. Extraction isn't necessary, but doesn't do any harm either other than loosing oversight over your mods.
- If you want changes to show up, it is advisable to start a new game, as Brothers are pre-generated, meaning that it would take some time for modded characters to show up in a running game.
- The combination with "Tryout Talents" comes as an optional file, but if you want it, download only this file, as it contains everything. Contrary to the normal procedure, you will have to extract this archive after placing it in /data. My hunch is that the css and javascript files don't extract so well in BB, as it worked fine for me before I started to manipulate those.

Compatibility:
- Since it modifies the often needed player.nut script, it will likely be incompatible with some mods.(Like "Weighted Talents", which I will miss dearly) Check the mod description of other mods to hopefully find out whether they modify the player script. You can also check this by looking into the .zip archive under \scripts\entity\tactical whether the script is there or not.

Questions and suggestions can be written in the comments, but I can't promise support past some months after publishing this.
