About this mod

This mod makes the "Loot All Items" button a lot smarter.

The "Loot All Items" button is helpful to grab all the loot, but when your stash is full or nearly full it becomes a pain. Then you need to pick through your inventory to find the least valuable items and manually swap them for the most valuable loot while mentally taking into account sell value, repair costs, food reserves, etc., at least if you want to maximize profit! This mod makes that "Loot All Items" button a lot smarter. When you click the button...

  • The game will automatically take the most valuable items from the loot, taking into account sell value and repair costs.
  • It will also take items like ammo, tools, and medicine and put them directly into your supplies rather than having them take up inventory slots temporarily.
  • If your stash is full and there's still loot left, it will automatically swap the least valuable items from your inventory for the most valuable loot items.
  • Certain items will never be swapped out of your inventory: quest, legendary, and named items, important accessories, crafting items, and usable items like potions. It will drop bandages, but not nets. (This may seem arbitrary, but they are classified rather differently by the game. It also feels right to me, assuming you use nets.) You can always swap items out manually if you want.
  • Food will not be swapped out of your inventory if it would leave you with less than three days' worth of food remaining.
  • If any of the items taken during this stage are damaged and would be profitable to repair, they will automatically be marked for repair.
  • After swapping less valuable stash items for more valuable loot, the game will then make a second pass focused on food, swapping smaller and shorter-lasting food piles for bigger and longer-lasting food piles.

Unfortunately there is no way to prevent it from swapping specific items. For example, if you really want to carry around a bunch of cheap wooden sticks you may have to pick them back up after clicking "Loot All Items". The mod will probably still save you time. Hopefully this mod will someday be incorporated into End's Inventory Management Overhaul mod, which does have a way to mark individual items for keeping, but it's pretty useful all by itself.

The mod will also sort loot by sell value (except that it'll put food, supplies, and crafting items first).

Warning: I recommend disabling the "Auto Loot" feature in the game options (or not enabling it, since it's off by default). Otherwise, the game will rerun the auto-loot algorithm when you leave the loot screen, which may undo any manual changes you made to the loot selection.

Installation: Just drop the .zip file into your game's data directory. No need to unzip it. NOTE: mod_hooks ("modding script hooks") v16 or later must be installed.

This mod has no known conflicts, assuming you don't use it with other mods that alter the loot sorting or "Loot All Items" button behavior.
