About this mod

Filmic Shaders attempts to make Arkham Knight look less like a game, and more like a movie shot on film! This includes effects such as depth of field, film grain, custom filmic color correction, as well as improvements to lighting with effects such as ambient occlusion. And the best part, almost all effects are toggleable on/off in-game!

Features:
  • Toggle effects in real time
  • Filmic Color Grading
  • Ambient Occlusion
  • Distant Depth of Field
  • Dynamic Depth of Field
  • SMAA Anti Aliasing
  • "Filmic" Effects
  • Ambient Lighting
  • Performance Version

Toggleable Effects:

Nearly all of the features and effects listed can be instantly and seamlessly toggled on or off in game. Don't like an effect? Turn it off!

List of commands:
All effects are toggled on by default

Num 1: Toggle SMAA and Dithering Warning: Turning off dithering may make visual artifacts visible
  Num 2: Toggle Ambient Occlusion
  Num 3: Toggle Lighting Effects
Num 4: Toggle Distant Depth of Field
  Num 5: Toggle Dynamic Effects
  Num 6: Toggle Chromatic Aberration
  Num 7: Toggle Sharpening
Num 8: Toggle Film Grain Warning: Turning off film grain will HEAVILY impact the look

Dynamic Depth of Field:

The dynamic depth of field effect seamlessly blurs the background when you focus on an object, as well as near field depth of field effect.

Comparison (of near field depth of field effect)

There is no way to toggle the near field depth of field effect seamlessly in-game. If you wish to disable this effect, there is a version available to download without it.

Filmic Color Grading:

The filmic color grading is what adds the final touches to the image, and truly makes the game look like film.

Comparison 4

There is no way to toggle the filmic color grading seamlessly in-game. If you wish to disable the filmic color grading, there is a version available to download without the filmic color grading.(Warning: disabling the filmic color grading will heavily impact the look).

Performance Version:

For lower end PCs, there is a performance version available to download! The performance version heavily tweaks nearly every effect for the maximum performance available, and at times can save up to 15 FPS. Please keep in mind that the performance version does not keep the original look of the shader, instead opting for the maximum performance performance possible while still looking decent.

Install:
WARNING: If you have installed Reshade BEFORE extracting the zip file, it will not work properly. Reshade must not be installed since the ZIP already includes everything you need.

In-game, chromatic aberration and film grain needs to be off for the preset to work properly!

To install, download the zip file and extract to "...\Batman Arkham Knight\Binaries\Win64" (the directory should contain "BatmanAK.exe").
Do NOT just extract the configuration file to the directory! This mod has files that vanilla Reshade does not contain.

This has been tested and confirmed working with Reshade version 4.6. Newer or older versions of Reshade may not work, use them at your own risk.

Support:
I will freely provide support for bugs and crashes related to this mod, provided you have the correct version of Reshade installed.

Crashes related to the game itself should be posted to the game forums, and crashes related to Reshade itself (NOT my mod) should be posted to the Reshade forums.

Disclaimer: In-game menus and the main menu may look weird, I recommend you disable the mod using the "Scroll Lock" key while in a menu.

F.A.Q:

Q: Am I supposed to be seeing the mod effects through the menu/UI?

A: Unfortunately, yes. Reshade cannot automatically detect when a menu is opened, or where the UI is, so it is totally normal to see the effects through the menu/UI, as well as seeing ambient occlusion through smoke.

Q: Why doesn't my game look the same as yours?

A: Make sure you have the full version, not the performance version or a version with removed effects, and also make sure you have film grain and chromatic aberration disabled in-game.

Q: Is there a way to toggle the effects without a number pad?

A: Yes! You can press "Home" to open the Reshade configuration menu, where you can enable or disable effects.

Q: Is there a way I can edit this mod to my preferences?

A: Also yes! If you open the Reshade configuration menu, you can edit many of the settings I have already edited. Just do not post a modified version of my preset anywhere, and keep in mind that I will not provide support for modified versions.

Compatibility:
This mod should be compatible with everything that doesn't use a dxgi.ini. That means it isn't compatible with other Reshade presets or an ENB (if one even exists for Arkham Knight). It should be compatible with all skins or gameplay enhancements.
