Modifies the Underdark sword Phalar Aluve to be more thematic/viable for Eilistraee worshippers to use throughout the whole game. Also check out the great mod The Legendary Phalar Aluve by RagnaBlazer which addresses the power of the weapon without any of the extra stuff.

Installation: Use your favourite method of installing mods. I use Vortex, personally. This mod works just as well with BG3MM, but you have to update to the latest version (1.0.9.1/Aug 11th or later) or it might not work. Manual installation is possible for advanced users. The mod can be added to existing games (though you should unequip Phalar Aluve before applying this mod). It cannot be removed safely from existing saves. It is safe to switch between the variants (+3, +2, +1, mundane-ish) freely, even in the same save.

Changes: Phalar Aluve becomes a +3 sword. It gains 1d4 thunder damage (bards, yo). It gains the Moonbeam ability. It gains Eilistraee's Moonlight, a new passive ability similar to Blood of Lathander's passive, but applying to spiders instead of undead. While Eilistraee's Moonlight is active, the blade glows with moonlight.

Balance: I think the weapon is pretty balanced even in its +3 state given that Blood of Lathander is available at a similar point in Act 1 and is arguably stronger than this, having access to both Sunbeam and a cheat death. But if you disagree, I've created several variants (+2, +1, and Mundane-ish) which you can freely swap between - so you might decide to use +1 in Act 1, +2 in Act 2, and +3 in Act 3, for example. It's your game, do what you want!

This mod adds a few new statuses:

  • LIA_EilistraeesMoonlight applies to the player and is responsible for the blinding effect.
  • LIA_EilistraeesMoonlightPassive grants the wielder a passive ability to toggle LIA_EilistraeesMoonlight on/off.
  • LIA_EilistraeesMoonlightWeaponGlow applies to the weapon and causes it to glow.
  • LIA_EilistraeesMoonlightRemoveOnUnequipWrapper is responsible for removing LIA_EilistraeesMoonlight when the weapon is unequipped.
