    The mod doesn't work!
I can't find bags in the Nautiloid tutorial chest!
I've long rested but the vendors aren't selling the bags!

This means the mod is not enabled properly in your game. Make sure you have installed and enabled via your mod manager of choice. Make sure it is visible and enabled in the load order section of your mod manager. Failing that, you can follow the instructions for manual installation to validate that your mod manager has installed it correctly.

Updating Bags Bags Bags broke my game!

You probably installed it twice while updating. Uninstall all copies of Bags Bags Bags then install the latest version. If that doesn't work, delete modsettings.lsx, then regenerate it with your mod manager (in Vortex, by pressing the refresh button on the load order screen). If that doesn't work, you did something wrong in the previous two steps.

I get a story error popup when loading the game!

Ironically, this means that everything is working! Don't ask me why - blame Larian.

    Too many bags! WTF?

My Sister in Waukeen, just bin the ones you don't want to use. They don't bite.

I can't see scrolls when trying to learn them with Gale!
I can't sell stuff inside bags at the vendor!
It sucks that I can't see items inside the bags on my hotbar!

This is a limitation caused by the bags being marked as plot to match the base game ones. There is one unexpected advantage to this: mid-to-late game, the game starts to hitch badly when you open your inventory or switch characters because of the sheer number of items in your inventory. Your hotbar becomes overloaded to the point of uselessness. This doesn't happen when items are stored in these plot bags because their contents are not indexed by the hotbar. You can add the bags to your hotbar manually. You can even place their contents on the hotbar manually as well. https://i.imgur.com/U6EzjjS.png

    Autostack doesn't work!
Some autostack-enabled bags didn't automatically pick up a few items!

If you loot an item, it works. If you transfer an item between characters, it doesn't work. In some specific circumstances where items are placed in your inventory by script, it may not work. If you want to trigger autostack on every item in your inventory, drop the bag and pick it up again. If you have several stacks of the same item in one container and you want to join them, click 'loot all' to bring it to your inventory (which stacks the items), then drop and pick the bag back up again.

Shadowheart artifact and/or Necromancy of Thay autostacked to my Books container and I can't get it out again!

Technical limitation. See below. It doesn't impact the quest. The only way to fix it right now would be to overwrite the book's base game asset and add a tag to it, which I'm not willing to do because it may introduce compatibility issues with other mods or future patches to the base game.

Autostacking is enabled for many of the bags. Why not all of them?

For things like armor or weapons, autostack wouldn't work well right now, because we don't have enough control over exactly what autostacks. Most of these items are mundane or +1 items that will be sold, not kept. Autostack would spread these useless items out over many different bags. It would just waste time when trying to sell later on.

"But MODAUTHOR, you idiota, wouldn't autostack help even if they were kept in camp storage at all times?", I hear you ask. Because autostack doesn't work when you transfer items between inventories, including when you deposit an item into your camp storage, you would have to withdraw and deposit each bag to trigger autostack for all items in your inventory on that bag.

For users who already understand how this stacking behaviour works, this is arguably more convenient than sorting by type and shift+click/dragging items into their corresponding bag. For the average joe? They'd consider this a bug with Bags Bags Bags and I'd have to deal with more not-a-bug reports. There are already far too many as it is!

I'm taking a break from modding for a few weeks to focus on playing BG3 and Starfield (2 days to go - hype!). I will pop in to fix any issues introduced with Patch 2 and beyond, though I don't anticipate there will be any. I will continue to update the sticky at the very top with the current compatibility status. I will not be providing tech support, adding new features, or addressing feedback during this time. I strongly recommend reading through the previous posts for a solution as it's likely your problem has been discussed before. Failing that, please consult the handy LiaChart (tm) below if you need tech support while I'm gone.

    LiaChart (tm)

Q: Is this problem related to installing the mod (it doesn't work/the game tells me it's not loaded/I updated and nothing works/bags not at vendors)?
    A: See solution PBCAC.

Q: Is this problem related to autostack (it doesn't work/it only works on some containers/it only works when looting items/some items are missed by it/some items are stacked incorrectly)?
    A: See solution RTFM.

Q: Is this problem related to base game behaviour (I can't see items in bags at vendors/I did something weird and my bag stopped working/oh god shadowheart is stuck in a bag and I can't get her out)?
    A: See solution BUCKET.

Q: Is this problem related to my egregious conduct (tone too snarky/not providing immediate tech support/customer is always right)?
    A: See solution GTFO.

Q: Is this problem related to your feedback or opinion (too few bags/too many bags/bags too useless/bags too useful/bags too cheap/bags too expensive/not for sale where I want them/for sale in places I don't want them/icons not exotic enough/icons too exotic/not enough contrast in icons/too much contrast in icons)?
    A: See solution IMHO.

If none of the above, post a comment! An enterprising user might be able to help you out. For any serious issues you can PM me directly, though I am not likely to respond if the problem falls into one of the above classes (except maybe opinion, if it's a good one!).

    Solutions

PBCAC: I understand that modding BG3 as a layperson can be frustrating. I know the current confusion around the Mod Fixer makes the problem even harder to solve. Read all the resources provided, thoroughly, and follow them. There's nothing else I can do to help you; it's not a mod problem.

RTFM: Read the mod description and/or the stickied posts.

BUCKET: This mod adds new containers. That's it. You can think of this mod like a collection of names, descriptions, and icons, not code. It doesn't modify their behaviour in any way. It's not a mod problem.

GTFO: Modding is a hobby, not a job. Begone!

IMHO: Please leave your feedback in a comment. I genuinely appreciate good, thorough feedback, and usually engage with it. I will read it when I get back. Just because you have suggested something doesn't mean I agree, or will change it, but I do promise that I'll read and consider it.

HUGE thank you to all of the volunteers who have helped bring this mod to nearly every language BG3 supports: kakaichi, Wingrasp, zuoo774411, djull, koticR, Rekcheli, Vishorr, Sqwero, sweddd, vorpalvoid, SirVando, and nexen2. You're all awesome! Thank you!

DO NOT INSTALL THIS MOD! You cant remove it from a save, and it hides essential items (mind flayer parasites other quest items). It hides them from global search, its very broken

Nexus has no interest in screening their portfolio. They will rather pay for more storage and bandwidth.
What would stop a perfectly working mod for being removed from the site, if a group of people without knowledge to read/understand/follow instruction, by "mass-report" the mod? Should Nexus hire 100+ people to test and verify every report that comes in?
There are 50 million members, over 500.000 mods across 1000+ games.

Modding any game isn't "Download and play", like an official DLC from the publisher. People need to read the description page, the comment section, look at dates, know what version of the game they have, and when it was last updated. Many things to balance, true. So modding isn't for everyone.

It's true, but if a mod is outdated it should be clearly marked as such. I don't even know how to delete the mod, it's not in sticky messages, and there are 55 pages of comments.
I installed this one to fast so it's mainly my bad, but information is terrible too

How would you suggest it get marked as outdated, and who shall mark it? What is "outdated" and to what standards?
Yeah, 55 pages. Of praise or frustration? Only a few post down people has come to the only solution.
Who is at fault for "terrible information"?

I agree with you on the whole, the user is the biggest problem but also the best solution. It's a rule I've learned over time, you have to be careful and know what you're doing. You also have to know which mods not to install.
We can always look for someone to blame, but that doesn't help anyone. Once again, I was seduced by this one and when I saw the number of downloads and installed it too quickly, so I can only blame myself.

Modding on BG3 is also a bit complicated with all the different types of mods (mod managers, native, etc etc). I mean, it's not like Marvel's Midnight Suns where you can copy, paste (and delete) and it's fine. It complicates things a bit. So you're right, it's not for everyone.

So yes, there's not much standardized in modding in general, but there are some good ways of going about it. At least with this mod I think we don't need to define outdated shall we?
If a mod is abandoned (especially one that's been so successful), it's still better if the author says so at the very beginning of the description. Everyone should also help in comments, I always try to do so.

And I haven't found a satisfying solution to uninstall the mod on the current page, at least for an active save. Deleting the mod and starting a new playthrough after 100+ hours is not what I was looking for.
My "solution" was to destroy every bag in my inventory and never touch it again :p

Larian praises its modding community, but does little to none to educate them about the engines limitations, or even suggestion "best practice" of modding. If a player choose to change color of a armor set, that is a highly modded game, by Larian standards.
The modding of BG3 is where it is today, only due to knowledge people have obtain by modding DOS2 (same engine), and we still have no official "handbook" or whitepaper of how to best mod the engine.
We don't know for sure what kind and type of code will persist in the savefile, and will cause problems with uninstalling and/or updating mod and/or game, and even if any code will have a chance of making a save corrupt later on. We don't have any ways to debug the engine, so we aren't 100% sure of anything. We can test and guess, but we can't say anything for certain.

      Opinion:
The "official" mod support will just segregate the modding community. Because console players will never have access to mods that requires 3rd party mods/dll's/code/licenses. Such as Script Extender, or other DLL loaders. Or mods created with licenses versions of 3D-tools and such.
So change of color are the only mods that will be supported. And looking to DOS2, this official mod-support will stop working in a 1-5 years, do to "conflict between license holders/ consoles (aka Hasbro and Xbox/PS) and Larian".

So. When we know nothing, and can't be sure of anything; Mod installed, shouldn't be removed from a ongoing game. Even updating the mod or the game, runs a huge risk of messing things up. Just look back to the Patch 3 to Patch 4 to Patch 5 problem earlier this year.

I don't understand why so many people are complaining/uninstalling the mod? What sort of issues are being had? Should I remove it before my next playthrough, as I've yet to have a problem so far.

Hi. Is there a way to delete the mod from BG3 mod manager loading order? As soon as I delete it the game does not load (return to main menu).
The original idea is awesome, but it shouldn't be installed ...

4 DAYSSS I just spent bugtesting to isolate what was causing all the crashing and try to find a way to uninstall this mod without restarting my entire campaign... as others have hinted at (but not stated so plainly): This mod is BROKEN as of patch 6 - more specifically, the "books" bag is broken. In my case, I was encountering MASS corruption of save files and crashing to desktop when removing "Khaga's Letter" (a quest-related book) for the shadow druid questline from the bag that it auto-sorted into. Looking back, I probably should have just restarted, as I was not 4 days along in this campaign in the first place... What can I say? I'm a Taurus through and through, and I did in fact save before picking up this item but after
    Spoiler:

... Anyways, lesson to take from this: don't let quest-related books enter your books bag if you plan on or already began using this mod.

I also had major issues with this mod that took days to isolate. Saves became corrupted and unable to load. Only solution was uninstall this particular mod and start a fresh playthrough. Good luck.

This is a neat mod and might save some time for ease of sorting the many items in game but be forewarned, there are several issues I encountered. First, this mod will eat quest items like Doritos.. It's got a healthy appetite for eating stuff like Kaghas Letter, the Necromancy of Thay book, basically anything that might get sorted into the autosort book container will sometimes go in and never come back out(or just disappear in there).

Also I had an issue that first started after encountering the first vendor where after interacting with the vendor proceeding save files would randomly load to desktop. Problem was I never knew when I saved if that particular file was gonna be corrupted or not. After losing multiple gameplay sessions(dozens of hours) multiple times I decided to try and locate the issue. Said issue only went away after I eventually abandoned my campaign, exclusively deleted this mod and started a fresh playthrough.

I love this mod. Adore it even. Couldn't play the game without it. But the necromancy of thay book keeps disappearing. It just vanishes and Idk if it has anything to do with this mod (it usually lands in my book bag) and then sometime later it's just gone. I just wanted to check if it's something that could be fixed or even if it's a problem with this mod specifically at all

Yeah, I removed the book container on a new playthrough to test it out and it didn't disappear in other acts. So it's definitely the book container.

I'm using a mod that randomizes loot, with related mods that add extra loot to find, and it randomizes shops as well. Is there another way to get these bags, or do they only appear in shops?
It'd be nice if they could be summoned with an item that spawns in a few places on the ground, like the Basket of Equipment mod. That mod makes a new container on the ground in a couple of spots, and they hold amulets that let you summon the modded items.

edit: It looks like there's already a mod that does this: Bags Bags Bags: Reforged.

Tried everything, manual editing etc, the bags are just not there when I speak to one/any of the vendors. I don't have many mods installed, but this is the only one that is not working so far.

    Thanks though
