About this mod

This is the mod load order for my collection, Ultra Custom Tavs

Full disclosure, I am not maintaining or adding to the collection anymore and the load order may send back missing items, but you are welcome to either ignore them or get the files in question.

A collection of my favorite heads, hairs, piercings, clothing, armor, and gameplay mods. These include custom races and UI mods as well for easier gameplay. After three playthroughs, I personally want to get rid of little annoyances like being constantly encumbered or accidentally breaking concentration, so some of the mods may feel a little cheaty, although I personally try to balance my gameplay.

Before you start

Requirements
  • *I utilize Unique Tav for many of the head and body mods, this is a must.*
  • Script Extender is 100% necessary for this collection
  • Improved UI ReleaseReady
  • Trip's Old Shader Pack
  • Mod Fixer
Best practices
  • Update your mods before each game instance
  • I would strongly encourage the use of Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager over VorteX
Notable Favorites (in no particular order)

  • No Party Limits - Allows you to have all of your companions with you at once! I really like having everyone with me at all times, especially hearing the banter and getting to discover interactions I haven't seen before. This will likely cause some bugs in Act three haha. When paired with Sit This One Out which allows you to toggle if party members participate in battle, this can still be super balanced for regular gameplay.
  • Unique Tav Custom Appearance - Not going to lie, it took me a while to switch over to using this mod, but I am very glad I did. The body tattoos were a really big thing for me and I adore the amount of customization you can get with heads, skin textures, body types, etc, and is now a must have in my saves
  • Load Order Tabs - an absolute must for my modding, especially as I am nearing ~400 mods in my current load order, this allows your to sort mods by category and it is a godsend for large modlists, hoping eventually to get it natively imported into the BG3MM
  • Alternate Tiefling Tails - This is a Unique Tav dependent mod that adds new tail types to tieflings, (imp, dragon, double, gilded tails, to name a few) and I am in love with all of the options, really makes creating a new tiefling so fun
  • Transmog Equipment - Allows you to transfer the stats of one armor/clothing with the looks of another. One of the first mods I downloaded and still gets use almost daily. I definitely struggled in my initial play-through to find clothing/armor that looked good and worked for my characters, so this has been a godsend. It's also a great balancing tool for overpowered custom clothing/armor to make them equal to the armor that you would naturally find/buy throughout the game.
  • 5e Spells - also can't play without this one, this mod adds a ton of spells currently seen in the fifth DnD edition, and I love how they were utilized in this game. Totally makes sense why Larian didn't add these, but I'm super grateful to have more spell options in the game
  • Mark Books as Read - a great QOL improvement mod, it's nice to see at a glance what books I have or haven't read to save myself the time of checking, also pairs well with Auto Send Read Books to Camp ( Auto Send Food to Camp also by Volitio saves so much inventory space even without increasing carry weight)
  • Body Tattoo Switcher - a relatively new mod that I adore so much, it allows you to change body tattoos (unique tav needed) mid play through by actually utilizing the 20 spots in a tattoo atlas, it's been so cool to see how many tattoos have been made compatible with it, excited to see it progress.
  • P4 Bangs Bangs Everywhere and Kay's Hair Extensions are so so helpful, they add hair details using the customizable slots from the dragonborns and I love using them to adjust hairstyles to my liking, love this one
  • P4 Custom Hair Colors and P4 Custom Horn Colors - these mods add extra colors, but especially a true black which is so nice since the base game colors tend to be a little on the light side
  • Vivid Landscapes - these mods overhaul the terrain and water textures to make them less VRam dependent (or more haha, but I like less) while upscaling the textures for a prettier game
  • Tutorial Chest Summon - a must-have for someone who gets a ton of armor/clothing mods haha, this allows imported items that would be on the Nautiloid to be summoned for convenience, also works as a way to get rid of items before uninstalling a mod
  • Bububull's dreadlocs and curly hairstyles - Adds a bunch of beautifully made hairstyles, I love the way these hairs look so much, highly recommend!
  • Elminster's Big Naturals - no comment
  • Better Dyeing - I have forgotten how the game was before this mod, it allows all dyes to be reusable and to dye multiple pieces without leaving the dyeing widget, so so useful
  • Slutty Menswear - I unabashedly love this mod, it adds a bunch of revealing and appealing clothing for the masculine frames, Astarion is always in Rogue's Flirt, just really suits him, and I'm using Spider's Pet in my current Durge run
  • Appearance Edit Enhanced - allows you to edit or remake your Tavs or the origin characters entirely, love this one, mainly use it for adding piercings to companions or changing around hirelings, but the ease in which you can access the Magic Mirror is a huge plus
  • Basket of Equipment - Gives a ton of clothing and armor, I love this one and I use it all the time, the modular items make for really fun outfits
  • Tav's Hairpack - one of the most popular mods on the site for good reason, adds a ton of hairstyles to the game and works with a lot of custom races, definitely recommend with the Tav Hairpack Icons
  • Trip's Accessory Collection - This mod adds so many more piercings into the game! I love all of the piercing mods tbh, they add so much to the character customization
  • My fave custom race mods so far:
  • >Dumner Race - imported from The Elder Scrolls, this dark elf race adds some really nice heads, backgrounds, and tattoos, and I love seeing all of the work that went into this race. Chose this race for my current Durge too
  • > Wine and Revelry (Satyr Race) - This mod adds goat-legged Fey humanoids and I love love the way they look, I have one as a hireling and I adore her.
  • >Ghastly Ghouls Playable Undead Race - I really enjoy the look of these custom heads and it's been such a delight to use these in my game, adds so much to the roleplay for me personally, as I like to imagine this being incorporated into the life/death cycle that the game already has. Also have a hireling ghoul and I love him.
I will add more as I think of them, but I genuinely recommend every mod I have, I couldn't pick a favorite of the head mods, nor the horn ones, and the hair ones all remain on relatively equal footing. Happy modding!
