Could you do something with Potent Robe ? If you play any magical class that uses charisma, this robe is an absolute "must have". There simply isn't a better robe in the entire game.
Unfortunately, the robe is hideously ugly… They literally chose the worst generic design possible.
If you could make a simple mod that would change the appearance of the robe to look like Infernal Robe or Obsidian Laced Robe (one of the most custom robes in terms of recoloring) I think a lot of people would be very grateful. After all, you can save the world AND look stylish while doing it. (If you want to go the extra mile, it can also add a version that will look like Mizora robe for women.)
Also, it wouldn't be out of place to change the robe from an epic item to a legendary item. Any warlock will confirm that this is indeed a legendary item.
If swap is the only possible way, I'd rather choose Infernal Robe. After all, only a tiny percentage of people are willing to meet the conditions for obtaining it.
Yeah for real, I've had a hell of a time finding mods and it's inspired me to name my mods (hopefully) in a way that promotes easy finding.
Gotta include my favorite one here for funsies, Beholder Fix. Took me ages to find this because the game only includes Spectators and they're not broken. Great mod though.
I'm interested in doing those too, sure! I could remove the bonus action cost of Belm's extra attack, with that gone it should function like it did in BG2 (I think) since it already uses the properties of the main-hand weapon. Though I'm not sure what should be done to the staff, do you have any suggestions?
Belm has always been known for its extra action. It was the most popular off-hand weapon because you could get an extra attack action for the weapon in your main hand. Ideally, this should be replicated, but one free attack with this sword without consuming the bonus action sounds nice too.
Staff of Ram is practically a +4 staff that does an additional +6 crushing damage. I'd rather not put weapons stronger than +3 into the game and i BG3 this weapon have special skill, so I think it's reasonable to weaken the staff to something like 1d6 +3 with extra +6 crushing damage (net dmg is 10 - 15 which is strong but not OP)
Nymph Cloak is also one of the iconic items known from both BG1 and BG2. However, in BG3 it lost its +2 Charisma for some reason, making it worthless. This should be easy to fix.
Dwarven Thrower was an extremely useful +3 throwing warhammer that returned to hand, had extremely high attack speed, and provided extra bonuses for dwarves. In BG3, however, it is only a +2 epic hammer that has lost its speed. So I'd suggest upgrading it back to legendary level, giving it back tis +3 enchantment, and maybe also something like +2-3 initiative as well, as proof of fast attack speed. There is an extremely low amount of good hammers in the game, so this will be very welcome for many players.
There are even more items in the game that were in the previous games, such as Sarevok's sword, Balduran's helmet, Balduran's sword, the necklace that Jaheira got from Khalid, etc. However, they received power at a similar level, or even higher, so there is no need to modify them in any way.
I didn't know the Flail of Ages was in BG3 until seeing your mod. Having played the s#*! out of BG2 i am very familiar with the Flail of Ages. It was a 3 headed flail utilizing Acid, Fire, and Cold once all three heads were added. The weapon was a +3 weapon that had been taken apart and it was a side quest to restore the flail. I would love to see a modder actually sculpt the flail to actually show all 3 heads when the weapon is held. I haven't yet looked at the weapon in game so maybe it is modeled with all 3 heads. This is a true AD&D Artifact that shouldn't be nerfed by Larian. So glad to see there is a mod out there now that brings the Flail into somewhat of a proper perspective of its former BG2 state.
The in-game model is a normal single-headed flail unfortunately, and it's well beyond my skills to remedy that. I just decided to power it up a bit thematically based on the previous version.
Fantastic, thank you! I cheered out loud when I saw I could get the Flail of Ages, but words fail when I try to describe how disappointed I was when I looked at its stats. If you edit it again, would you mind adding the finesse tag?
Yeah I never played the previous games, I didn't even know it was a 'reference' item until the other mod came out lol. I decided to do my own spin on it, since I'd been wanting to make something you had to power up in combat. I can do a finesse tag version, no problem.
Interesting. So this weapon was in the previous baldur's gate games and it was much more powerful than the one we got in BG3? I always wondered why in Act 3 i was seeing some unique blue rarity items. I was thinking surely by now the party should be strapped with legendary rarity gear that all do something cool or unique but always viable.
This would look like a perfect weapon for a savage attacker smiting paladin. Wish more weapons had a sort of change your effect or damage type on the fly kind of effect throughout the game.
It was just in BG2 (and by extension, its DLC, Throne of Bhaal which allowed it to be upgraded even further). Flail of Ages was the absolute perfect weapon for killing trolls because they would regenerate unless their deathblow included fire or acid damage.

There's an unused robe and I could swap it out with that

I'll put something together for it, stay tuned
U cud even make it look like your fav heavy armors if u wish

Will you restore Belm and Staff of Ram as well?
It's a shame that these iconic pieces of gear have been so horribly nerfed.
And would be nice to have at least one combat staff...
(Although I would probably only give it a +3 form and not a +4.)

I was planning to restore the Dwarven Thrower back to its PHB stats, just forgot about it until now
I'll see if I can get it to do an extra attack with your main hand weapon instead of with Belm itself
and yeah, I don't want to put anything past a +3 enchant into BG3, so I'll see about a bludgeoning bonus for the Staff of the Ram
Thanks for the heads up.
