About this mod

Replaces Astarion's head with a version from Early Access.

Permissions and credits
This mod is a basic head replacer, replacing Astarion's head mesh with one I extracted from an early access version of the game. The major difference is that it changes the smile animations (in my opinion for the better-- his top lip tends to stop disappearing and makes for a less grinch-like smile). I have tested this with all his major cutscenes and have not seen any issues.

PLEASE NOTE: This mod will not be updated-- new patches to the game should not affect it at all. Additionally, I do not really consider myself a modder-- I uploaded this when I got some requests after showing the differences between the heads. I will not take any requests to make any tweaks to the head because I don't have the skills to do it.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod is compatible with mods that affect Astarion's textures (skin, colors, etc).

This mod is NOT compatible with any other mods that affect the shape of his head, his teeth, or anything else that changes his head mesh.

INSTALLATION

Because this is just a basic mesh replacer, it is not a .pak file that can be installed with a mod manager. It must be installed manually.

Step 1: Download the .zip file

Step 2: Open the .zip file using a program like winrar or winzip

Step 3: Extract the folder inside named "Generated" into the folder named "Data" that is located within your BG3 installation location (the path will be [wherever you installed the game]/Baldur's Gate 3/Data). If you already have a Generated folder in your Data folder, just do the same thing. The new Generated folder will overlay the old one and put the mesh file where it needs to be.

UNINSTALL

Delete the Generated folder, or if you have other mods in that folder and don't want to delete the whole thing, delete the file "ELF_M_NKD_Head_Astarion.GR2" nested within the Generated folder.

Note that you can install this mod and uninstall it within ongoing saves and nothing will break.
