About this mod

This mod is intended to save your game every 5 minutes - worry-free

Permissions and credits
Hello people of Faerûn,

do you know the problem? You just played an hour spending your time with dialogue and looting while discovering the map and all of a sudden your game crashes due to various reasons (in my case mods)?

This can be very frustrating since you now have to do exactly the same over again and keep reminding yourself to keep hitting F5 like a madman after every decision taken.

Now i cannot provide a mod that saves after every decision what you deem necessary, my friend but fear no longer, you will lose only 5 Minutes of your time which is a good compromise i think regarding the hours lost previously!

What can be more frustrating is the amount of mods that provide auto-save capability, some require you to do lots of things before you can start playing again and some dont work reliably imo.

So i made this little program with an AHK Script compiled into an EXE so you dont need to download anything, just execute it and start playing.
The compiled script doesnt do nothing else than checking if your bg3.exe either vulcan or dx is running, when it is it will switch inside the games window and hit F5, this way it will only hit F5 within the game and not in your browser or wherever else when you forget to turn the script off - due to the nature of this script being compiled i cannot provide a way to change the key, if you previously changed the key to something else you need to put Quicksave back on F5.

How to use:

1. Unpack the AutoSave.exe anywhere you like and run it. I ran it without admin-priviliges and it also worked on 2 other machines.
2. Play the game
3. When done check your task bar symbols to the right where there should be the icon of the exe, right click it and close the program.
4. ? Profit!

I hope this little program is to your liking and hopefully you will have more saves in future to bug test or just plainly not lose your progress as often due to anything that may have happened.

Thanks for reading this far!
Have fun and best regards,
Klaytonsmith
