Updated for Patch 8! This mod changes the conversation with romanced Astarion post-ascension during the long rest. Tav's lines now match prior romanced story moments. Now, with more supportive lines before and during Astarion's ascension!

I love our beautiful Vampire Ascendant!
So why did Larian decide that my character didn't? Tav is either making demands to be a vampire as if that was their reason for ascending him from the start, or they're demanding sex as payment after already agreeing to a sexless relationship with Astarion in Act 2.
And those are sadly the so-called "good" options. When they aren't a selfish horny wreck, they wish to lecture Astarion about what lessons he should have learned like some annoying after-school special.
The only other options are raging at him over an innocent pet name (the same pet name he used when he was a spawn), and dumping him. Want to have lines expressing your care for him? Well, it's hidden behind lines comparing him to his old master for no good reason. Like geez Tav, chill! The man just became an ascendant vampire that day!
Anyway, I found the options given extremely limiting with no wiggle room to roleplay my Tav the way I wanted.
I'm not complaining about Larian or the writers. I love this game and love Larian for creating it, but the writing during this scene just doesn't match prior romance interactions with Astarion. If Tav was all about sex, then the romance wouldn't have proceeded into Act 3. And there are no hints that ascending him would unlock becoming his Bride/Groom. So these demands come out of nowhere.
So the purpose of the mod is to match prior romance interactions. Like asking for a cuddle as payment over sex, or expressing a desire to be with him forever as the reasons for wanting to become a vampire. If you go the alternate "lessons" route, it comes across as less of a lecture and more of a confrontation about the "I don't know what we are" lines he expressed in Act 2, thus solidifying the romance before choosing to become his consort.
I tried to make the lines match Astarion's responses as best I could so the conversation flowed.
Check out the media section to see what has changed. This mod does not change any lines other than what is shown, and it does not change Astarion's lines.
Updated 4-15-2025: Updated for Patch 8. I made very minor adjustments to some lines to make them supportive but more neutral for roleplay purposes, like deleting pet names I added (ie Love). And the Flee Astarion! line, was changed to just "You'll do nothing of the sort."
Updated 9-6-2024: Updated for Patch 7 (Warning: I haven't played Patch 7 yet, so I can't test it to see if the changes show up; crosses fingers.)
Made a few line adjustments:
Old Line: How about a cuddle tonight?
New Line: I want to cuddle with you tonight.
Old Line: We're stronger together; to rid ourselves of any doubts about our love.
New Line: That we’re stronger together. To put aside any doubts about us.
Reverted "We can't trust the brain, Love." back to the original line. "We can't trust the brain."
Old Line: Ugh, these people stink.
New Line: Ugh, these people...
Old Line: Fine, no stomping the gore pile. We do have bigger problems to face.
New Line: Yes, we have bigger problems to face.

Update 3-10-2024: I wanted to make sure it was updated to the latest hotfix.
I changed and adjusted some lines in the original mod to make them a little less abrasive. I also provided opportunities for Tav to acknowledge their role in the ascension and have more 'us'- type lines rather than talking to Astarion as if he's doing this alone. I also tweaked a line I wrote in the Support mod that I felt was a bit heavy-handed.
Original Line: So many deaths, and you don't even know what they've paid for.
New Line: So many died so we can stand here...
Original Line: We have each other. Isn't that enough?
New Line: We have each other.That’s enough for me.
Original Line: What's next for you?
New Line: What is next for us?
Original Line: We can't trust the brain.
New Line: We can’t trust the brain, Love
Original Line: Please, yes. (Saying yes to Astarion's proposal to sleep together before turning you. 'Please, yes' sounds too desperate)
New Line: I'd love to.
Update 3-7-2024: Expanded to add more supportive and less combative dialogue choices before and during Astarion's ascension.
Compatibility:
Will conflict with mods that alter the game's localization files, such as the Show Approval Ratings in dialogue Mod. If you wish to keep Gortash's original letters, you do not need to download the Slithering Wet Malice Restored mod.

How to Install:
1. Download file
2. Take .pak file and add to Mods folder (I use BG3MM, I don't know anything about Vortex, sorry)
3. Make active and save or leave inactive.
4. Enjoy a more pleasant interactions with our magnificent husbando! :D
To Uninstall: Remove the mod using BG3MM and save.
