Overview

This mod allows for the five currently available origin characters (Astarion, Lae'zel, Gale, Shadowheart*, and Wyll) to be chosen in character creation, as well as customize their class and some appearance options.     *Glitch after character creation for Shadowheart, solution will be listed below.

Face shape and hair have to be kept the same, however the colours of everything can be customized. While I have not tested all characters with a different starting class, the ones that I did test worked fine, and even kept their tags for both classes (e.g Gale as a cleric still had wizard options whilst freeing Shadowheart).

Bugs
For the most part, the cutscenes for companion quests are still unfinished/glitchy (and will likely remain as such until release).

Astarion as an origin character did not receive the 2 dexterity bonus. This was caused by him having a unique undead elf race which did not include the bonuses. I have updated his origin race to elf so that he now receives the 2 dexterity bonus, Fey ancestry, and dark vision.

Astarion and Gale did not have an equipment override in the original file, and as such wore the default outfit of the class you chose. I added their base game outfits as an override for them, for parity with the other origins. If you are customizing class, the default outfits/weapons may be sub optimal to start with. As a work around, mods such as Basket Full of Equipment places a basket with gear in the starting room for you to choose from.

*To fix Shadowheart being stunned after character creation there are (possibly) two solutions. If you play in co-op it may be possible to use the restoration machine with one character to remove the knocked out effect, though I haven't tested this. The method I used requires the most recent cheat engine table. After selecting the BG3 process and opening the BG3 cheat table go to Console Commands -> Register Commands -> On Demand Cheats -> RestoreParty. Shadowheart should proceed as normal now.
There is now a temporary bypass in the "Optional FIles" section. To use this, place the extracted "Public" folder inside your Baldurs Gate 3 Data folder. Please DELETE THE BYPASS after you have made your Shadowheart character and Saved your game. The bypass file is located at:

Baldurs Gate 3 -> Data -> Public -> Shared -> Stats -> Generated -> Data -> (Character.txt) <<<- File to delete after use.

Install
As this is only one file edited, I have kept this as a loose file. To install, simply extract the Public folder and place it in your Baldurs Gate 3 data folder. The file structure should look like:  Baldurs Gate 3 -> Data -> Public -> Gustav -> Origins -> Origins.lsx

Uninstall
Simply remove the Origins.lsx file from the above file path.
