While exceptionally powerful in 5th Edition, Vengeance Paladin is noticeably weaker in BG3, in large part due to itemization covering a lot of the same things the subclass does. This is an issue unique to Vengeance, as every other Paladin subclass has at least one mechanic that is totally unique to itself, and often even synergizes with items. Another issue unique to Vengeance is the fact that it has a completely garbage level 7 Feature. While every other subclass gets a new aura of power varying from "situational but decent" to "immensely powerful," Vengeance gets.. extra movement speed sometimes. In 5e, this feature was decent because this extra movement also made you immune to Opportunity Attacks while active, but that part of the feature mysteriously did not carry over to BG3.
I probably could've fixed this, but I wanted to do something more interesting and thematic. So I gave them a Silencing aura. The idea behind this was to expand on some of the anti-mage identity that Paladin tends to have (especially back in BG2 with Inquisitor), and to give Vengeance Paladin something that it uniquely excelled at compared to other subclasses. Namely, locking down and destroying casters.
Installation: Install with BGMM.
If you're interested in a bunch of niche mods that make minor gameplay changes, that's basically the bulk of what I do, with hopefully more on the way, so be sure to check my mod page. Cheers!
