More Handaxes

Have you ever thought to yourself "Man, I want to play a dual hand axe wielding [InsertClassHere]!" Only to realize there are only 5 hand axes in the entire game, from those only 4 are magical and from those four only three are actually useable because the 4th is a joke weapon?. Well, I did and it sucked.

And that is why, out of sheer spite, I learned the basics of modding and made More Handaxes. Adding 13 hand axes of different rarities to the game, aiming to give more variety and an actual gear progression to hand axe players. I am very well aware that these are sub-optimal, Great Weapon Master weapons hit harder, Tabern Brawler hits harder so, why use hand axes? Because a e s t h e t i c s, obviously!. Pairs well with Better Dual Wielding.

Where to find these?:
Either in the tutorial chest, or sold by different vendors in the world. Install just one version.

Act 1:
Spoiler:
Show
Dammon, in the Druid Grove

Act 2:
Spoiler:
Show
Lann Tarv, the bugbear in Moonrise Towers

Act 3:
Spoiler:
Show
Entharl Danthelon, in Wyrm's Crossing - Helsik, in the Lower City

Important: Once you've seen a weapon ingame you will not see it again, they are all unique. Meaning if you summon chest and grab just one you wont be able to get others on subsequent summons. Get them all at once.

FAQ:

  • How to install? BG3MM. Never used Vortex but it should work? Maybe?
  • Is it safe to uninstall? I would assume so, just make sure there are no items added by this mod on you before uninstalling. In general never uninstall mods mid playthrough. As of Patch 5 if you uninstall any mod you'll be locked out of your save, dont uninstall mods. (You can regain access to the save but its tedious).
  • Cant see the weapons. If you are adding this to an already existing save you can use this to summon a tutorial chest. If the weapons are not showing up on the vendors, take a long rest (Partial Long Rest works too).
  • These don't seem too powerful, is that on purpose? Yes and no. These are meant to be dual wielded, meaning that the buffs of individual weapons stack (Unless they both grant their benefits from being on the main hand). That said, Im open to reasonable suggestions.
